Some Halloweeny fun for all :)

I hope your kiddo's get more than poor Charlie Brown gets every year! (For those of you who didn't watch the Charlie Brown Halloween show, everytime he knocks on the door to trick or treat all of his friends get great candy and he gets a rock, it really is one of the funniest parts!)

Try this little pumpkin simulator. Very cool for a Halloween day :) I hope everyone gets sick from eating too much candy tonight and that you all have fun dressing up. I have my Halloween shirt on from last year, but it barely comes past my belly button! I have a long sleeve shirt underneath, but last year I wore it regular. You would never have known that just 12 months ago my shirt actually fit. Oh well, my skeleton earrings still work just fine, no adjustments needed! HAPPY HALLOWEENY EVERYONE!!!

Columbus, I have made a discovery!

This is the Babies R Us Crib (minus the pink bedding!)

Sorry for all of you who aren't into all my pregnancy/baby posts, but hello! I am sooo excited about having this baby, especially now that Seth and I can both feel him kicking his way around. There is no better of a reminder that your life is about to change then a little one practicing water aerobics in your tummy. Anywho, my discovery! Babies R' Us!!! Thanks to my friend Lisa and baby Ty, yesterday I was able to take a ride to Louisville and explore a Babies R' Us for the very first time. Lisa found Ty the cutest costume and I can't wait to see pictures of him! I found about a million things that I want to buy my new and coming baby, including a crib, bedding and travel system (although I am still debating b/t the crib I found yesterday and two that I found online at JCPenney). This weekend we will officially be completely moved into our townhome, and next weekend Seth has work, but you can bet that the weekend after that you will be able to find me strolling the aisles of Babies R' Us!!! Who knew I would ever be this excited about baby stuff? Oh my I feel like my outlook on life is evolving into something completely different than anything it has ever been. I think I am already thinking like a mom and munchkin isn't even here yet! Anyone know this feeling?

In the spirit of Halloweeny!

Last night Seth and I enjoyed watching "Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown." I had never watched the whole thing before and it was cute, but poor little Linus. Anyways, on one of the commercials, I caught Seth impersonating Charlie Brown and thought it would be funny to post it. (please excuse our moving mess!)

Kicked in the head!

Okay, first things first, my Kitchenaid post may have sounded as though my husband makes me save up money in order to buy things and otherwise I don't get things that I want. I just want to set the record straight and say that if that is what is sounded like then it was VERY wrong!!! Seth NEVER buys anything for himself. If he ever gets anything it is because I bought it for him withought his knowledge. The reason why he doesnt buy anything for himself is because he is always trying to figure out what I want and buying it for me. I am just excited that now that I have a job, I can for once use that money for my things and he will be able to get some things for himself. Understood? Just wanted to set the record straight! :)

Secondly, last night Seth was kicked in the head! Don't worry though, it is not what you think. He decided to put his head on my stomach to see if he could hear the baby, as soon as he put his head down, the baby kicked as hard as I have ever felt him kick before, right on Seths face! Seth jumped back and started laughing so hard. It actually kinda hurt me. All the other kicks up to this point have just tickled, but this one was a little painful. We diecided to watch my stomach to see if we could see it move, and sure enough we saw him kickin' away. I was a little scared though after that big kick to feel him kick again, but I hear it only gets worse from here so I better get used to it! I start my 3rd trimester Wednesday. I can not believe how fast the time is going. We had better get on that nursery!!! :)

What do you think?

Now that we are finally going to be somewhere for at least a year, I am saving up my money for two things: a sewing machine and a heavy duty mixer. I just got a job (thank you Jesus) subsituting at a pre-school and kindergarten and put my application in at other schools, so I will have my own money to save up. Since I already know the exact sewing machine I want, I need your help with which mixer I want. I like all of these and I can't decide! It will take quite a few more months to save up, but it is well worth it. My mom has this great mixer in grey and there is nothing that compares to making cakes and cookies in one of these mixers. They are all the same mixer, they just come in way too many colors! Help me. The voting poll is to the right and I have listed the colors above the pictures.

I forgot. . .

Okay, first things first. I forgot to say that I finished my first graduate class and I passed! Infact I got a 90% on my final paper, which I truly thought I was going to get an F on (okay, I am bragging on myself, but you have no idea how many hours I devoted to that daggone paper!!!). God is very good to me and Seth, and we don't even deserve it. Also, my last wisdom tooth is making its entrance (and that is very important to update you all on!)

Secondly, I LOVE BILL O REILLY!!! He rocks. He was on the view today and really got Joy's goat. It is about time because I am so tired of her and Barbara and Woopie being bullies to Elizabeth. They will only like you if you agree with their extrememly liberal "views". So Bill O' Reilly is my hero today. And please don't forget to vote. . . for McCain!

Family Update

I decided it was time to give an update on us. I know you guys know that Seth graduated BOLC III on Friday. Today he started his final school, which is called Scout Leaders Course and it is at Knox and only lasts for 3 1/2 weeks, so it is definitely doable. We found out last Tuesday that we are not going to be going to Ft Irwin. Seth fought for a position being an XO for the Armor Officers School and beat out 9 other guys for it, so God has really been answering our prayers. We are moving out of our little apartment this coming weekend and we are so excited to finally be able to get our stuff back after living out of rubbermaid containers for 6 months! Plus, I will be 24 weeks on Wednesday and we don't have the first thing ready for the baby, so at least now we have an empty room for him, lol. My family is from Virginia so it really was a blessing to be able to be stationed here and be within driving distance from them. Seth's sister is moving to Nashville, which will only be 2 1/2 hours away from us and the airport in Louisville is a major hub that we can take off from to easily go and visit Seth's side of the family in Texas. Both mine and Seth's sisters are getting married this summer and now we will both be able to go to both of their weddings! I don't have to worry about taking a newborn by myself across the country on an airplane, and Seth (hopefully) won't have to miss either one.
The only thing I am sad about is that I met a great friend who is moving to Irwin. We have been e-mailing for 6 months back and forth and have gotten to know each other very well. She has a new baby and when I realized I would never meet her I was very upset. I can only hope that we will be stationed at the same post again down the road.
This week I will be packing up our apartment here. We get the keys to our new town home on Friday and our stuff from Benning will be here by next Thursday. Just in time to buy a big bag of candy, put on my cat ears and pass out candy to trick or treaters!!!
This past Sunday we found a church that is a little bit closer than the other one we found. We really enjoyed it and are going to go back next week to visit again. They have a wonderful nursery and feeding room for when the baby gets here and we were able to take a tour. Everyone was very friendly and knew about our home church and our pastor who recently passed away. It was nice to have a little familiarity.
Well, I think that is about all the big news that has been going on around here, but I am sure it won't be long till something else takes place!

Blessings in Disguise

My nanny sent me this e-mail and I really liked it. It made me think of how true each statement is, and especially with Thanksgiving right around the corner it is always good to take a moment and be thankful for the things that you might not even realize are blessings.

I AM THANKFUL: FOR THE WIFE
WHO SAYS IT'S HOT DOGS TONIGHT,
BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME,
AND NOT OUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

FOR THE HUSBAND
WHO IS ON THE SOFA
BEING A COUCH POTATO,
BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME
AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.

FOR THE TEENAGER
WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES
BECAUSE IT MEANS SHE IS AT HOME,
NOT ON THE STREETS.

FOR THE TAXES I PAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM EMPLOYED.

FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.

FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.

FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING,
WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING,
AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME.

FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING
I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT
BECAUSE IT MEANS
WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

FOR THE PARKING SPOT
I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING
AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION .

FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM WARM.

FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH
WHO SINGS OFF KEY BECAUSE IT MEANS
I CAN HEAR.

FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.

FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES
AT THE END OF THE DAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN
CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.

FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF
IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE.(hehe, I will have to share this one with Seth:))

The Big Day!!!

No, not the big baby day, the big graduation day!!! Yesterday Seth finally graduated from his third and final stage of basic officer leaders courses!!! I don't know who was more excited, me or him. Now I have to brag for just a minute because I am allowed. He not only graduated but he graduated the very first in his class, which includes his classroom scores as well as field training scores (and whatever other scores they have!), and he won the leadership award for his entire class! I am so proud of him. I remember last year around this time when he left for basic training. The job he had before he entered the army was terrible and every day he came home talking about how he felt like he was just wasting his time because his job was not challenging and he was treated like he was some kind of slave. I am just so happy that now, a year later, he is finally doing what he loves to do and he is really good at it. Seth has always been a hard worker and an overachiever. He always has gotten good grades and I had no doubt that he would be a great soldier, but now not only do I know that he is a great soldier, but everyone else does too! I am just so proud of all his hard work and days where he got little or no sleep and months withought one weekend off, not even a Sunday and times where he would come home from working all day and have to spend until midnite writing an op order and wake up again to make it to 5:30am PT, and the list could go on and on an on. The most amazing part is that while he was off winning the best soldier award, he somehow managed to keep his pregnant wife happy, does it get any better than that??? Even though there are a lot of times when he can't be home and there are many more days to come where he will be gone, I realize on days like yesterday that it is always worth it. My husband rocks!!! Okay, I am done bragging. . .for now ;)

Here is the plaque he got, plus he was also given two coins, one from the colonel and one from someone I can't remember.

Gotta remember that the baby was there!

We went to Louisville later to celebrate!

This was the night of his formal. I couldn't go to it because it was a dining in, which means just for the guys! Even though I really wanted to go, they had a really great time just being with the guys and having fun.

I am in a picture mood!

Please notice in this picture poor little Cameron trying to get her pacifier. I was looking through these beach pictures and I came across this one. I thought, "What is she trying to do?" and then I saw her pacie in my hand and her mouth going for it. Poor little thing.

Then I see this one,and I think, "What is Cammy doing here?" (If you can't see Cammy, please look carefully behind us!) Isn't this funny?

My favorite because it is so serious and stupid at the same time. It probably would have been a pretty artistic/serious kind of picture, but Seth having a boxwood wreath on his head is kinda ruining the mood.

These are some out takes of an old Christmas picture. We finally did get one that worked, but I love looking at these. They show our personalities perfectly. I am all the way to the left, my brother Seth is in the middle and my older sister Donna is on the right.

Here is another one. We were being so goofy. I think maybe here Donna and I were getting annoyed with Seth, which is pretty normal. But actually, Seth and I are usually the ones who get on Donna's nerves. She is the most serious of all three of us. We loosen her up every now and then :)And I am sure she appreciates me putting this wonderful picture of her up here. I am not really sure of this face she is making, it isn't one of her typical faces.

When my mom sent me the pictures of Cammy opening up her silly glasses, she said "I guess Cammy doesn't remember how scared she was of these glasses last year." I didn't remember Cammy being scared of them and then I came across this picture today. So funny, and the poor thing was definitely scared of Seth in his glasses!

Halloween Surprise!

Last week I sent Cammy a Halloween package in the mail. These are the pictures my mom sent to me.

It looks like everyone had just woke up! This is Cammy and Cack Cack (my dad)

Here are the funny face glasses that were in the package, plus foam halloween stickers and yucky booger candy! Ewe!!!

She is saying "I (eye) heart Kathlyn!"

Cammy and KK. KK's morning face is pretty funny! (KK= my mom)

Cammy also decided to make the envelope part of the gift. Haha! Empty refrigerator boxes and now apparently empty bubble envelopes are little kids favorite toys!

Okay and here are pictures of my Mom, aunt and grandma (nanny) trying to take a good picture, which appears to have been an event.

Susu was laughing I guess. I really don't know what she was doing!

Nanny closed her eyes. . .

Finally! Everyone is as normal as they can pretend to be!

Stumble Upon. . .

If you are ever bored, visit this website: stumbleupon.com You tell it what things you are interested in and then it puts a "Stumble" button on your computer. You click it and it visits around to different, very cool websites that correspond with your interests. One of my interests was jokes. I came across a website that has funny things people said in courtrooms on it and I had to post some! If you haven't laughed today, here is your chance :)

~Lawyer: "You were there until the time you left, is that true?"

~Lawyer: "Were you alone or by yourself?"

~Lawyer: "I show you Exhibit 3 and ask you if you recognize that picture."
Witness: "That's me."
Lawyer: "Were you present when that picture was taken?"

~Lawyer: "You say that the stairs went down to the basement?"
Witness: "Yes."
Lawyer: "And these stairs, did they go up also?"

~Lawyer: "Doctor, did you say he was shot in the woods?"
Witness: "No, I said he was shot in the lumbar region."

~Lawyer: "So, after the anesthesia, when you came out of it, what did you observe with respect to your scalp?"
Witness: "I didn't see my scalp the whole time I was in the hospital."
Lawyer: "It was covered?"
Witness: "Yes, bandaged."
Lawyer: "Then, later on...what did you see?"
Witness: "I had a skin graft. My whole buttocks and leg were removed and put on top of my head."

~Lawyer: "How old is your son, the one living with you?"
Witness: "Thirty-eight or thirty-five, I can't remember which."
Lawyer: "How long has he lived with you?"
Witness: "Forty-five years."

~Lawyer: "How far apart were the vehicles at the time of the collision?"

I had to post this too!!!

Ahhhh, my friend Joey has the cutest little baby you ever did see. A few weeks ago she asked me if I could make a cheerleading outfit that has her oldest son's team on it. I forgot to take a picture before I mailed it off to her and I was sooo excited when I checked her blog today and she had these posted! I had to post them on here so all of you could see it as well. The little bum says "#55's lil' sis'". Ahhh! I love it :)

Also, I have been sick since last Thursday. Remember that sickness Seth came home with 2 weeks ago? Yeah, he gave it to me the day he left for the field. Sooo, I had no one to help me. However, I want to give a special thanks to my wonderful friend, Kristen who took it upon herself to take care of me. She called everyday to make sure I was still alive and last week she made me a loaf of homemade wheat bread. Then, on Thursday she sent me a delicious pumpkin pie, all for me! Thanks Kristen!!! You are the BEST!!!

Here is what you can do with the $3-5

Starbucks Holiday Peppermint Mocha is out!!! Take your saved money (or not saved money) and buy one of these. Delicioso! You can also save money on these by buying the bottle of peppermint syrup from Starbucks and adding that plus chocolate syrup and whipped cream to your coffee! Dont you LOVE fall and the holiday season? You can also try the Marshmallow Mocha which is Seth's all time favorite, and it is pretty tasty!

P.S. Seth gets home today from the "gauntlet". He has been there since last Thursday, in the field roughing it out. I think we will mosey on out to E-town and pick us up some Starbucks, great idea huh? :)

Friday tip day

Do any of you splurge on shampoo and conditioner? Redken, Biolage, Paul Mitchell? They are all pretty pricey just to be rinsed down the drain. Here is a money saving tip. Shampoo is not nearly as important for your hair as conditioner is. Shampoo is merely getting the dirt and oil out of your hair and they all work the same way. The clear shampoo's are harsher on your hair and really strip away the dirt. These are good to use once every couple of weeks to get the build up off of your hair. The creamier ones are not as harsh and have a moisturizer added to them, which make your hair shinier and smoother but can cause build up. So it is nice to have both around. Okay, back to my money saving tip. Instead of buying expensive shampoo and conditioner, splurge on just your conditioner instead. Even if you don't use the really expensive brands, you can still save. If you use Pantene, or Herbal Essences, etc. you are paying $3-5 per bottle. Try buying the suave brand of shampoo and go ahead and buy the brand name conditioner. If you need a color protecting shampoo, try Suave Professionals line. They have a color protecting shampoo that works just as well as the Biolage shampoo for color-treated hair and it sells for around $1.99! As far as conditioner goes, I use a deep conditioner every time I shampoo, which cuts down on split ends and the need for trims (even though you still should go and get a trim every 6-8 weeks! But I am trying to let my hair grow so I usually wait about 12 weeks, oops). My favorites are Aussie 3 minute miracle deeeep conditioner which is under $3.00 and Pantene's restoratives time renewal which is around $3.00. I thought I would share this with you because I am just so smart, haha. No really, I have just spent way too much time thinking about hair and money. My nanny is also a hairdresser, so I learned all that I know from her, and she knows what she is doing :) Take it or leave it, just my Friday tip for ya!

Halloweeny Costumes, if you are out of ideas!!!

A few days ago on one of my favorite blogs, I found this post on how to make this huge, creepy eyeball. How weird is this? You always see the princess or the indian running around, but what about making your child this unique eyeball costume? I LOVE it!!! Joey, this looks like something Erich Dteven would wear (haha).

THEN (it gets even better!!!). . . today on Martha there was the cutest, cheapest, easiest costume ideas made from hoodies. ANYONE can do them. They just require material, trim and glue! No sewing required. If you forgot about your childs costume, need a costume yourself, or don't have money to spend on a costume, try one of these. I think I may just make Seth and I one :)

YES!!!

McDonalds Monopoly game is here!!! Finally!!! Even if you don't agree with eating McDonalds food, at least go by and get a medium diet drink, it has two stickers on it!!! And if anyone wins a million dollars today because I told you to go play, I get 10,000 of it :) So, don't cook dinner tonight, or better yet for the next month and a half. Try the McDonalds diet because once you win the money you can hire your own personal trainer!

P.S. I kinda feel like I am playing the lottery at McDonalds??? Is this legal???

Obsessed!!!

I'm Ikea obsessed! Oh when oh when can I decorate my own home? Hopefully within one month!!! I love the rocker for the baby's room. The sofa is actually a two seater love seat and I want to put it in the living room with the leather sofa we already have. The orange and white rug and the curtains are my favorite! Orange is my new favorite color. And the mirror just rocks my socks!!! :) Plus, the very BEST part is that everything is superly priced, superly (I made that word up), and supposedly it is supposed to be pretty good quality (I don't mind testing it). So, anyone else an Ikea junkie?

Dear Cammy

These are my favorite :)

You were so little Cammy, when did you grow up?

Here you are, trying to get away from Seth :) Or maybe Seth is a good catcher!

Here are your favorites Cammy

Yesterday I received this sweet little e-mail from my Cammy (with a little help from my mom). I decided I would write her back on here so I could add some special pictures :)

Dear Cammy,
I got your e-mail you sent me. Thanks for saying "I love you" and helping me feel better. I promise that as soon as the baby comes out, you can hold him :) He is already kicking, trying to tell us he won't be in there too much longer! Since I don't have any stickers this week to send you so you can stick them on Cack Cack's nose and KK's bottom, I decided to send you some of your favorite pictures!!! Tell me if you like them!

P.S. I love you and want to come home to you too!

I think names are so interesting. In college I used to go get the baby name book and sit in Barnes and Noble and read the meaning of names. I wasn't even thinking of baby names, I would just sit there and look up peoples names I knew just to see what they meant. This website has a list of the most popular baby names every year from 1879 until today. You can also put your own name in to see what years it was popular. Pretty cool huh?
