Hoot Hoot

I love these owl greeting cards from Lindy's etsy shop. She also has some wonderful Christmas cards, and the say "Merry Christmas"! It is never too early to start dreaming about Christmas :)

We will be out of town again this week so I will probably be MIA until the weekend but I hope you have a fabulous week!

Seven

Just a lil happy 7 month old :)
LOVES to be outside!

Shirt is a little too big, but I like his missing hand look

He is looking at a flower that his daddy was holding up for him
Trying to get away from the bear!

This is the first time in all of our bear photoshoots that he seemed a little unsure about Mr. Bear. He is checking him out in this picture.

That's right... my little baby doll is SEVEN months old! I truly truly do not know where his little life is going...it is passing before my very eyes, but we are having so much fun with him. At his 6 month check up he weighed in at 16.8 lb and is 26" long. Right in the 50% for his age. He learned how to blow spit bubbles, which is very cute to watch. He isn't into the traditional style of crawling but he has figured out how to use his tippy toes to inch his way around- very funny to watch too! He laughs a lot now, even though he doesn't smile that much for pictures (like most kiddos, pictures aren't his favorite thing on the menu). Here are his 7 month photoshoot pictures!

Farm Basket Family

When we had our vacation to Virginia, we went to have lunch at a beautiful place. It is the Farm Basket and it has quickly become my favorite spot. It just makes you feel like you are in a book. The beautiful flowers and stationary, fancy lamps, and fridge full of fancy cheeses and cakes. They serve the best sweet tea out of these large, old fashioned glass containers. They have cucmber sandwiches or my new favorite (although I was hesitant to try it) is the turkey, brie and fig sandwich, sometimes taking a risk pays off. I snapped a couple of pictures to share with you.

Maternity Pants!

Nooo, not for me! But I have quite a few readers who are expecting, plus I plan to have some more kiddos myself and this tutorial will be stashed in the archives for the next time I need it. If you know anything about sewing and you are expecting... you have GOT to try this! I called our local Salvation Army to see if they give 1/2 off on Wed. like Grosgrains Salvation Army does. They told me they don't right now but they are negotiating prices now and if I call back next week, they hope to be offering 1/2 off on Wednesdays! I am so excited. This can't hurt just to try this tutorial. Go get you a pair of $3.00 jeans at Goodwill or S.A. and give it a whirl. Click here to see the super easy directions. And PLEASE send me pictures if you decide to make some!!!

Forgot 6 months!

I just realized that I never posted any of Caleb's 6 month photo shoot. I really wish he would just stop growing!!! The time is going by too fast.

Oh so sleepy

We went on "vacation" this past week. Seth was able to take a week off of work and we went to Virginia to visit our families. We had a great time, and as always the week went way too fast! Now back to the real world. Seth isn't ready for the alarm to wake him up at 5am and I am over my head in backed up pants and teacup orders, even little Caleb is getting back into the swing of things. He took a 4 hour nap today out of total exhaustion...but all in all it is nice to be back home. We have about 12 weeks until we make our move South for the winter. We are hoping to buy a house this time and we have one in mind that I can't stop thinking about. I am already dreaming of fresh paint and handmade pillows. I have plenty of pictures to upload, but today I am just too tired. The next few months will be busy ones. I am singing in my cousins wedding the first week in October, so we will be making another trip and then Halloween, Thanksgiving is after that, followed by our big move and then Christmas...busy for us and I am sure for everyone else as well! I just wanted to say hello and that I am back and ready to blog this week since I am sure you spent every minute of last week checking to see if I had updated my blog ;-p
Have a great night, don't watch the yucky VMA's, maybe read a book instead...or go to bed like me :)

Tah Tah for now!

I said, when Sept 1 comes around. . .

I am FALL-ing out the house!!! That means, I get to celebrate fall :) I was patient and waited until September 1. Here are a few fallish things I like to do:

Make a Nutty Latte:
Hazelnut coffee
Hazelnut Syrup (I opt for sugar free since I am still trying to lose this baby weight!)
1/2 & 1/2
Whipped Cream (yet again, I use reduced fat...my fall jeans that I can't fit into are calling my name)
Sprinkle of nutmeg on top = yumm-o-licious!

Make the house smell warm & cozy the store bought way

Or the homemade way!
Make my (really my moms) favorite fall simmer:
Orange peels
Cinnamon sticks
Water
Simmer together on stove to fill the house with a wonderful fall scent
You may also want to add nutmeg or cloves to the mix

I know some people don't believe in Halloween, much less decorating for it, but I grew up in a house that loved Halloween. Not because we loved witchcraft, but because we loved dressing up and putting the black reese cup wrapper on our front tooth to make it look like we were missing one! Halloween is what you make it and I like to make it a fun, not evil,a holiday.

Do you have any summer shirts that could use a lift? Caleb and I had a few white tops that were dingy. I bought some Black Velvet Dylon for $1.98 and dyed our clothes to a pretty grey color (the color in the picture isn't a good representation). Great to put under sweaters for fall! They have other neat colors too and it is the perfect way to make a new shirt out of an old one...and for really cheap :-) This is also great for clothes that have light stains on them and in the baby world, that's a lot of clothes. Try it and send me a picture...I'd love to see what you come up with!
