Someone is in my house!!!

Seth left for the field on Saturday morning, for a 4 day "field trip" and if you calculate it right, he should get back Tues. Well, last night I was sitting in bed watching CSI, unable to sleep (it was about 12:30). I am in the bedroom with the door closed when I hear the front door creak open. I am panicking! Who is it? It cant be Seth, he is in the field!!! So, I finally yell, "Seth???" and I get a weak "yes. . ." Oh! I cant explain how mixed my emotions were right then. I wanted to kill him and kiss him at the same time!!! His phone died so he couldnt call me. But this is what happened. All day Friday, for our baby day 08', he was grouchy and groggy. His throat hurt so we got him some throat drops to take to the field. Around this time every year, right when the weather is changing, Seth gets sick. Last year he was at basic training and had pneumonia but didnt tell anyone and then on a ruck march his kidneys failed and he had to go to the hospital. This year, he was smarter. He only has 2 1/2 more weeks until he is done with this school! This was the last 4 day "field trip" before the big 8 day one that they call the Gauntlet. So Seth decided that if he didn't want to be recycled for going on sick call during the Gauntlet that he would need to go now! So I am sooo glad he did b/c I don't want to be in this apartment any longer than I have to!!! It is 1:45 pm and he is still sleeping! I think he must really be sick because he has never slept this long. So I guess this means that I need to work on my paper while I have the chance, blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. But if you could remember to pray that he gets better so he can leave this week for the big 8 day and we can be done with Bolc III!!!

Drum roll please. . . . . .

little baby was wiggling all over, here is the little hand and it was moving its thumb up and down

here is the leg, the technician said the baby wasn't afraid of showing it's feet!

here is where you may be able to tell! she didn't print out the really obvious one for us, but this is still pretty close

I tried to upload this great video of Seth and I right after we found out what we were having! But this confounded video thing wouldn't load my video, so I have to go with pictures and typing. Click here to find out what we are having :)

The most important part is that the little munchkin is very healthy. Everything seemed normal with the baby and all of its surroundings. We are so grateful that everything looked wonderful!

What is this baby going to look like???

This is Seth and I yesterday, right before we found out the big news! I was looking at the pictures later and I thought "Could we look anymore opposite???" Then I started thinking, "What in the world is this baby going to look like?" Probably just like Seth. He has all the dominate genes. I hope little baby gets Seth's skin, because then they wouldn't have to ever have a sunburn like I did! But if I am really lucky little baby will have blue eyes like mine :) I would be happy with just one feature the same!

hot diggety dog!

At 10:00 am yesterday morning, I was watching Martha Stewart. . . and guess what she had on her show? If you just guessed hotdogs, you guessed it right! They had all kinds of hotdogs, infact, it was hotdog day. I don't typically crave a hotdog, but I always say that hotdogs are one of those foods that when you decide you want one, ya just gotta have one. Immediately I rack my brain for where I can go get a good hotdog. What did I come up with? NOTHING! I couldn't rectify going to the grocery store to get all of the fixin's just for my one hotdog, so I gave up hope. Then, Seth comes home from lunch and asks me if I can make enough dinner for his friend Steve because he was coming over to work on some army work. I wouldn't typically be so excited about fixing dinner for a guest at the last minute, but my mind immediately raced to the idea of my ever delicious hotdog and I said, "Yes! I hope he likes hotdogs!!!" On my hotdog I put ketchup, mustard, mayo, chili, slaw and onions. . . soooo delicious ( I used to be a ketchup mustard girl, but Seth got me hooked on this combination)! Plus we had french fries :) and cookies (hey, we had company!) So today, I encourage you to eat a hotdog, with whatever you want on it. You could even try Martha's ditch dog that has macaroni and cheese on it!!! And just in case that sounds good to you, here's the recipe:

Ditch Plains Ditch Dog

Coarse salt
1 pound elbow pasta
2 cups milk
2 cups heavy cream
3 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 pound white American cheese, cut into 1/2-inch pieces, room temperature
1/2 pound Gruyere, grated, room temperature
1/3 cup Parmesan, grated, room temperature
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
8 hot dogs
8 potato hot dog buns

Thanks Mr. Anonymous

So, thanks to an "anonymous" blogger today, from Saint Cloud Minnesota, who decided to write a bad comment on my blog, I will now have to approve my comments before they are posted, which really stinks. I just don't want anything like that showing up on my blog again, and even though they may think they are anonymous,I have computer skills :) So sorry to all my friends, just wanted to give ya a heads up!

Mirror Mirror on the Wall. . .

Can you tell which bags are regular pocket books and which are diaper bags? I have been needing a new pocket book desperately (Seth drew in ink on mine, all over it, by accident, don't ask, I can't really explain)but nevertheless, that got me thinking about diaper bags. I don't want to be a mommy that walks around carrying the big Elmo or Dora bag and then has another pocket book. I want an all-in-one perfect bag. So I explored options, granted I have no idea of the price of any of these, but I can always ebay right? This way I only have to have one bag (one bag is enough already!!!) Then I will get a small diaper bag to keep ready by the door for when we go to church or if Seth takes the baby with him somewhere (haha, I will get Seth a man purse!) So, what is your vote? Which ones are diaper bags and which are purses (you may have to ask your mirror)? I will give you a hint. . . they are arranged by rows.

newest etsy additions

Carry and fold (or store) barrette cases! If I only wore barrettes. But actually, we always use to lose Cameron's so this would have come in handy! Anyways, it is what I have been working on today. Now I have to take my business quiz, but I would much rather be doing this!!!

the alien

I need to set the stage for you. Yesterday I was making lunch for Seth and I as I am in the kitchen and he was in the living room, this is the conversation we had:

Seth: "Hey, what is this alien tool in here?"
Kathlyn: "The what?"
Seth: "This little alien tool, what do you use it for?"
Kathlyn: (still making lunch) "What alien tool? What does it look like?"
Seth: "It's blue and red and pokey"
Finally, my curiosity and confusement got the most of me, so I walked all 5 steps into the Living room, only to find this. Needless to say, I was rolling laughing. It still makes me chuckle when I think about it. He thought it was pretty funny too. I have seen that alien tool so many times, my mom was always using one since I can remember so I never had to think about what it was, but now that I look at it, it does have a little extra-terrestrial appeal, wouldn't you say?

FOOD!!!

I just can't stop talking about food. . . and eating it! Here has been my wonderfully healthy menu, just today.

I woke up too late for breakfast, so I went straight for the pizza

Plus some yummy TGIF potato skins with sour cream

Then for snack, I had chips and ranch dip. . .one of my favorites!

a love I learned from my mom, kisses with almonds

then a cup of decaf coffee with tiramisu creamer, so delicious

Believe it or not, I don't eat like this all the time. But today was pretty sinful and delicious. I am putting on my ipod for an evening walk to help with some of those calories though, and no need to fear, dinner will consist of a sub sandwich with veggies. . . and maybe a few more kisses! :) I love being pregnant!!!

What's it gonna be???

The results for the baby bedding poll are in!

Girls- Out of 21 votes, 7 of you voted for the black and white bedding, making it the top choice!
Boys- Out of 21 votes, 7 of you voted for ABC bedding, making it the top choice!
Thanks guys for the help. I think you have great fashion sense :)

Now the next poll will be super fun for me. Next Friday, the 26th, we will hopefully find out what this little munchkin is! Kudos to Joey and Lisa for waiting their entire pregnancy, I just don't think I can wait that long. I figure that if God would like us to know, then he will have that little baby bottom in the right spot :) If not, I guess we will have a surprise!

I will give you a little background on our families gender records (in order of birth):
My Nanny(mom's mom), mom, and aunt- 2 girls then a boy
My Grandma(dads mom)- girl boy girl boy
Seth's mom- 3 boys and a girl
Seth's brother- Girl, boy, girl
Seth's other brother- Two girls, boy
I am not sure if that means anything or helps, but it is an FYI
So, please vote on what you think we will be having. We are REALLY excited!!!

Homemade orange cinnamon potpourri. . .smells good :)

Thanksgiving in September. . .Here you go Hannah :)

Orange Cinnamon Potpourri

~The peel from at least one orange, preferably 2
~Cinnamon sticks or ground cinnamon
~Nutmeg (optional but makes it smell even better!)
~Cloves (optional ")
~Water

Mix all of this in a small pot. Pour the water in until it is about 1-2 inches from top of pot. Put it on the stove on low let it simmer, and smell Thanksgiving! You will have to add more water depending on how long you leave it on your stove. Just make sure you don't leave the house and forget! You can also add apple cider to the pot for an apple and orange cinnamon smell. I haven't tried that one yet, but I saw it in a recipe for potpourri and if I ever get cider I will try it.

Or if you don't have time to go through all that trouble, I found a candle at Wal-mart that I love and I got the small glass one for only $1! It smells a lot like fall too, it is called "Mulled Cider". I think it smells similiar to Yankee candles "Harvest" but the smell fills up the room better and it is a lot cheaper!

I am drooling and I love pineapple. . .

fresh that is. I dont know how many of you eat pineapple, but there just isn't anything that compares to that expensive fresh pineapple over in the hoidy toidy fruit section at Wal-mart. I get the big bowl of fresh chunks and I bring it home and eat it all in one sitting. I try to break it down into at least two snack times, but once I start eating that pineapple, I just can't stop! I have also gone through almost an entire bag of oranges since Saturday. Winter time is orange season. Seth was surprised to find that out, I know because every year my grandparents would buy a huge box of oranges for us to eat. My mom would stick cloves in them at Christmas time to make the house smell good or simmer the peel with a cinnamon stick on the stove. I actually have some orange peels and cinnamon on my stove right now, although there is still a few weeks till fall! I just love the smell. Okay, and speaking of fruit. It seems like one of those edible arrangements commercials comes on all the time. The ones with the gorgeous fruit arrangements and then they say that you can even get them dipped in chocolate, while they show in slow motion a delicious strawberry being dunked into a huge bowl of melted chocolate, and then I wipe the drool off my face. Yum! I want to go get one just to eat it, for no special occasion. Couldn't my birthday be today???

Fruit tip- Next time you make fresh fruit salad, add some fresh mint to it. It gives the fruit an indescribable flavor! My aunt gave me a bridal brunch last summer and made fresh fruit with mint. I wanted to eat the entire bowl!!!

bebe bedding. . . why are there so many to choose from???

This is for my mother in law who was nice to ask about what bedding ideas I had in mind (she has seen some cute things and didn't know whether to get them or not). I was going to e-mail her, but then I decided I would share with all and get your vote. I named then all and I am putting up two polls: one girl and one boy, so please let me know what you think!

Black and White

This is for either boy or girl. I like it because I can get colored sheets and switch the look up if I get tired of it by adding other colors around the room. Plus I have always had a thing for black and white!

Circles

This one I am unsure about. I like the bright colors, and I would use it for a girl, but something is "ify" about it.

Arabesque

One of my very favorite girl pics. It is called Arabesque. I just really like it!

ABC's

What's not to like about this? Boy blue and ABC's. Classic.

Pink Twiggy Trees

I just like this one. It is modern but still really girly, and I just like it.

Shabby Chic

This one is Shabby Chic. I have always liked shabby chic decorating, but now days I lean more towards modern. This is so pretty though, I had to put it on my list, even if the rest of my house isn't shabby chic.

Animals

This one is really cute. I like the modern animals, and it is obviously for a boy.

Dots

This one could go either way (I picked this out when I didn't know if I was going to find out what we were having) but I think I would use it more for a boy. I think it looks really retro and I like that there is no theme to it, besides circles and dots.

Read this Article!!!

My sister in law showed me this article and everyone just has to read it. I think you will all find it very interesting!

Baby Wade! 12- 17 weeks

So this is me right before I was pregnant :) And the rest are the weeks to follow!

Can you tell I was still in the sick stage?

Believe it or not, I was actually feeling pretty good at 14 weeks, although this picture says other wise!

I am noticing in this pic that more than one bump is growing! Uh Oh :(

We missed 16 weeks because we were too excited about going home to visit, so I just put two pics of me at 15 weeks up instead.

I'm back!!!

Hello everyone! Sorry for going MIA, but we were visiting our hometown and we had such a great time!!! It was really hard to get back in the car and pack up, but Seth decided he probably shouldn't go AWOL either, although it was tempting, haha. So here are a few pictures, most are from our day spent with little Cammy because I kept forgetting to take the camera out the rest of the time.

Does that headband look familiar?

Seth and Cammy

The hot shades I made Seth buy, they were only $3!!! I might like them more than he does though :)

My sister-in-law Hannah banana!

Cammy going down the slide at the Liberty football game

Posing for a quick game pic

We visited my brothers dorm room. This was definitely a typical guys dorm. No decorations and no organization! Made me miss dorm life :)

Seth and Cammy being silly. I love this picture!
