I can't figure out. . .

Where in the world this year went!!! Oh my word! I just stopped writing 2007 on everything and now I am going to have to switch to 2009. This year has gone way way way too fast. But this year will be such a new one for us. We have barely gotten used to being married and being new to the army, and now we will be adding a new family member in 6 weeks! 6 WEEKS??? AHHHHHH!!! Now I am really freaking out. It is so scary how fast this pregnancy has gone. I am trying to figure out if I really want him to come out of my belly or not. I love having him in there, kicking and punching me. I love going to my doctors appt's and hearing his heartbeat and I love that Seth and I can still go to the movies without getting a baby sitter! But really, I can't wait till he gets here. I have managed to dodge stretch marks on my stomach so far, so hopefully that will stay as it is! My back limits me in just about every area, so it will be nice to be able to walk around and get up and down without bracing myself for the pain. It will also be nice to go to the doctor and not have her tell me I gained another 6 pounds in 2 weeks. I think what I am most looking forward to though is seeing what he looks like! It is driving me crazy! I am so curious. Will he look like Seth, or me? I believe it will be pretty obvious who he looks like though, because the only thing Seth and I have in common is our brown hair. I can pretty much guarantee that Baby Wade will be a brunette, now I just have to figure out if he will have freckles and blue eyes, or olive skin and brown eyes. I am hoping he gets olive skin with blue eyes! I guess in about 6 weeks we will know (although we will have to wait a little longer for the eyes to change colors!)

Anyways, that is our big 2009 plans! Two of Seth's good friends are coming in tonight from back home, so I need to get off of this computer and fold this laundry. I only wish they were married so I could have someone to play with too, haha. I hope you guys have plans just as exciting to look forward to and I also hope that your New Years is amazing. And, hey, this year, dont fall asleep!!!

Wade family Christmas

This was my first year away from my immediate family for Christmas. I missed them very much, especially when I got on the phone with Cammy and she said they were all having a cookie party. However, even though I missed my family tremendously, Seth and I had a great time in Texas with his family. It was very special for all of us. Seth's oldest brother, Jonathan, is deploying so he won't be here next year for Christmas and it was also the first time in several years that they had all been together for Christmas. We had a great week! Thanks Sarah and Lee for giving up your Master bedroom and sleeping on the sofa bed all week. Baby Wade will thank you when he gets here too, lol. And thanks Honey and Pop, Hannah, and Lee and Sarah and girls and Sam for all the gifts for the baby and Seth and I. We are truly TRULY blessed :)

The Wade Family picture!

33 weeks pregnant.

One last picture with Sam before we head to the airport. We wanted to put him in our suitcase, lol.

The skinny girls and the not skinny girl. All the Wade women on our way to try and find Hannah a wedding dress!

The original Wade family. Jonathan (the one in the orange) is also in the army. He will be making his 3rd deployment to Iraq here shortly, so I snapped a picture of him with his family.

The Wade brothers. L to R: Jonathan, the oldest, Lee (or Nathaniel, he goes by both, yes he is a weirdo, hahaha) the middle, and my Sethy Poo the youngest and most handsome (hehehe).

Samuel on Christmas day. Everyone laughs because he looks so much like Seth did when he was a baby. He is a hoot though!

Seth and Diana and Maddy making a sandwich.

Lee (Seth's brother) and Seth swinging the girls on the trampoline.

Sarah (my sister in law) and Samuel, our cute nephew! I had to take a pic of them since they were all matchy matchy.

Seth and our niece, Diana.

Remember my box of lights and ornaments that got taken to the Goodwill? Well, my mom read my post about how I cried because I lost the ornament she gave Seth and I last year and I found these in the mailbox!!! This is the 2007 Hallmark ornament that I lost, plus another one. The toaster one is very funny because when we visited her at Thanksgiving, we told her how we had just about every cool appliance, including a blender, a food processor, a water boiler, etc. The only thing we don't have was a toaster, a simple little toaster! Now we have one, haha.

My parents also mailed us a Cutco knife! If you don't know what a Cutco knife is, let me just say that if you havent used one, you havent experienced a true knife. Last year they gave us the Cutco ice cream scoop. It is Seth's favorite kitchen tool. It will cute through any ice cream like it is butter! Thanks Mama and Daddy!

You guys thought we were a little older!

Okay, I promise my next post will be more elaborate. We just got home from the airport after a great time in Texas for Christmas. I will be posting pictures and stories soon. I hope all of your Christmas' were great and that you are looking forward to the New Year. Talk to you soon!

Christmas Exodus

Okay, so I had planned a giveaway, an easy one, but the last week has been a blur and so many things have been going on. I will have to wait till after Christmas for that one!
We are flying out tomorrow and won't be back till next week. Seth has two, much needed, weeks off and I am ecstatic!!! We are flying to Texas to spend Christmas with his family (I will be posting plenty of pics when we get back!). I wanted to tell you all Merry Christmas and I will be back after the holiday. Never forget the true meaning of Christmas. It is because of the baby in the manger that we can all have eternal life in Heaven. I hope you are blessed and enjoy spending time with those you love.

With Love,

Kathlyn

Killed by caffeine

As I was using my handy dandy stumble button, I came across this very interesting website. You put in your weight and your caffeine of choice to see how much it would take to kill you! Crazy. Especially when I looked at a small cup of coffee from Starbucks. Take a look, I think you will have fun!

Need a homemade cake?

If so, do not call me!!! I tried my best at duplicating the The Great American Cookie Company's cookie cake, but to my dismay, it looks nothing like what I wanted it to. The cookie didn't spread and bake like I had thought it would. Although it did taste pretty yummy (cookie + icing, what's to not taste good???):) I think Seth still had a good birthday despite the look of the cake, and for his present I framed all of his graduation diplomas, all 6 of them.

32 weeks prego! My back is killing me. I limp everywhere. I am just hoping that this intense, shooting pain will be on and off instead of just on like it has been for the past two days. Seth is wondering how I am going to be able to walk around in a store with him. Forget the store, I am still trying to just make it around the kitchen long enough to make dinner. I think I need a cane!!!

Self portrait. Trying to get a close up of me and the belly, but it is pretty difficult, even with my long arms! Don't you just love the paper towel background though?

Little Miss Debbie

Last night, I decided I wanted a Little Debbie cake. We stopped at the gas station right around the corner of where we live, but I was skeptical as to whether they would have Little Debbie's. Seth said, "Kathlyn, every gas station has Little Miss Debbie's!" Hahahaha. Little MISS Debbie. I informed him that he added the Miss in the name himself, he looked surprised that it wasn't called "Little Miss Debbie". Although, he kept saying it by accident. I think he has called it that so long that he'll forever call it that!

He also says, "Chicken-fil-a" instead of "Chik-fil-a", which drives his sister absolutely CRAZY! And he calls Graco, Gracko (as in rhymes with Whacko). I can't get him to stop that one either.

I hope he doesn't stop saying things wrong though. It is way too much fun making fun of him! Of course, I am only getting him back for making fun of me because of my lack of knowledge when it comes military lingo, whatevvvv.

I dated a guy in college whose mom called Splenda "Splendra" no matter how many times she was told that it wasn't Splendra. She also said moderen instead of modern(she added an extra syllable!)

Any of you guys say anything funny, or know anyone who does??? I would love to know your stories!

Tricked ya!

Now I am pregnant (31 weeks). . .

Now I'm not! I am an optical illusionist! (Okay, well maybe you can still tell, but I might have been able to trick someone!)

Our hail and farewell for Seth's company was Wed. night and after going through several tops that just didn't appease me, I threw this sweater on that my mom gave me and added a belt (because it very obviously was not going to button!) When I got to the hail and farewell everyone had a cow. They were like, "I love that outfit! I would have never thought to put a belt on like that, lalalala. . ." One girl came up to me and asked me where I got my sweater because she worked at a maternity boutique and she just though my outfit was so stylish. And guess what? It is a Liz Claiborne sweater, but guess where my mom found it? Goodwill!!! She is a Goodwill diva. She has all kinds of name brand clothes from there like Laura Ashley and Banana Republic and a lot more that I can't remember. But isn't that funny? I guess I could have just said it is a Liz Claiborne, but I just had to tell her the whole truth.

And randomly, our Christmas tree!!! It needs more decorations because Seth and I (being the smarties that we are) accidentally took all of our lights and a lot of our ornaments to the Goodwill. We were trying to just give our Christmas tree from last year away. So, when the box said "Christmas tree" we never thought "Hmmm, maybe the Christmas tree box has more than just the Christmas tree in it." I cried actually because I was so upset that we threw it all out. I was mostly upset because last year my mom gave us a Hallmark "Our first Christmas 2007" ornament. I am hoping she reads this because I am too embarrassed to call her and tell her myself that I gave it away. Plus, I already raided the Goodwill and I couldn't find it anywhere. It is very upsetting, very very. In fact, I get sick in my stomach when I think about it. It was an emotional tree decorating time for us last night (sorry Seth). Nevertheless, it is up and semi-decorated!!!

A little holiday creativity

So about 3 weeks ago, I came across my painting supplies while I was unpacking. I know that I really should have been doing the 10 million other things that need to be done, but I decided to sit down and paint a few Christmas pictures. They are all really simple, but I just needed to paint something! They became my fridge art!

Last year when Seth was at basic, I stayed up till 3am painting this one. I love having a Christmas painting to hang. This year it is hanging beside my naked Christmas tree, which I hope will get dressed here shortly!

This one, I love, but it is in the closet because it isn't traditional Christmas colors. Maybe I will pull it out after Christmas for winter.

And then, not only did I paint on paper, but I painted my hair! I used a home highlighting kit. I am not sure what I think about it though. It is a little lighter than I had planned on. What do you think?

Spin me right round

Soooo, I learned something new today, perhaps some of you are smarty tarty's and already know this, but I did not. You know how the Reynolds wrap and cling wrap sometimes are hard to tear out of the package? It falls out and you can't get it torn off and then you get frustrated and kick and stomp and cry and pull your hair out and throw a fit and your head feels like it is going to explode. . .okay maybe I am exaggerating a bit. Well, if you go get your packages and look on the sides, there are two places that you can push in to hold the wrap in place! I tried it with mine and it is like a completely new experience. Tell me what you think.

200!!!

I can't believe this is my 200th post!!! Boy do I talk a lot. I feel like I was just writing the 100th one. I wish I had some big huge special something or another to write, but the truth is, I am a little too overwhelmed right now to be that creative. The baby will be here in a little more than 9 weeks and we don't have the room set up, the diapers, the crib, the anything! We have the gift cards, but we just don't have the time. Plus, we are still trying to get the other room unpacked and on top of all that, Seth's company has a hail and farewell to welcome us and say goodbye to others on Wed., a gift wrap on Friday and a Christmas party the 19th. We also have our Sunday school class Christmas party on Friday night. These are all fun things, but overwhelming at the same time! Oh, and we leave the 21st for Texas.

On another GREAT note. . . I DO NOT have gestational diabetes!!! Thank you Jesus. The results came back negatorio :) Amen, Hallelujah.

So, thanks for all of you who read my non-sense every day. I promise that I will soon have my creative juices flowing again, but for now this will be my lazy 200th post!

Best Music Video Eva :)

This was on the ride to take Cammy back home and the night before Seth and I left to go back to Kentucky. I kissed her goodbye and walked out the door just in time to lose it on the way back to the car. I cried and cried. I miss that little squirt. She loves singing in the car, with the music up really loud. We happened to catch this song on the 3 minute ride from my family's house to her family's house. Oh, and she managed to weasle one more piece of gum out of me before we left, what a hoot!

Grosgrain: Scribble It GIVEAWAY!!!!

Grosgrain: Scribble It GIVEAWAY!!!!

This lady is sooo talented. She is constantly doing give aways, really great ones. Sooo, if you want a cool present, visit this link :)

Shaka laka

So. . . I have to share about my latest ebay experience. Now that I have the hang of selling and buying (emphasis on buying!) on ebay, I can't get enough. It is so fun to see how good of a deal you can get on things you need. With there being less than 10 weeks until my little guy is supposed to be here, I have been struck with sudden panic, racking my brain to figure out "What will we need first thing???" "What if I forget about something and the poor little guy is out of luck for a while???" ahhhh! SO, as I think of the needs, I go onto ebay and look for the best deals on them and watch them for a few days, debating whether they end up being a good deal or not. Last night, I truly got an amazing deal! I know it will be freezing in February when little man is born so I knew he would need one of those baby bunting suits, however, they are pretty pricey! So I found one on ebay that is brand new with the tags, from Old Navy. I looked it up on their website and it is for sale on there now and originally $20! Guess how much I won this suit for? $.99!!! You heard me right! Less than a dollar! Plus $4.00 shipping. So for under $5 I got a brand name bunting suit. Woo hoo!!! I know ebay is intimidating if you don't know exactly how it works, but once you get the hang of it you can save sooo much moolah :)

p.s. Please pray for me tomorrow. I go for my second gestational diabetes test. I really don't want to have gest. diabetes, so please pray that the tests will come back negative for it and that I won't get too hungry between dinner and lunch tomorrow (since I won't be allowed to eat for 13-15 hours, which is a lot for me right now because I like to eat)!!! Thanks guys.

And I want to thank my friend Chelsea for sending me a great baby box in the mail yesterday! Inside I found onesies, diaper cream, baby bath and this great Eddie Bauer head positioner that I had registered for. Thank you!!!

In case the post below is overwhelming. . .

May I suggest to not leave for an 8 hour trip at 5:00 pm in the winter. We spent the entire drive to Virginia in a dark, cold car (cold because Seth was burning up and driving and couldn't manage to get his hoodie off of his head while doing so, hence Kathlyn's cold feet!) At the next rest stop, the hoodie came off and Kathlyn was cozy again. If I had only remembered to actually put the newly washed blanket and pillow in the car with me!
We finally made the 8 hour trip in 9 (thank you pregnant Kathlyn). We got to my parents house a little before 2am, snuck up the stairs and fell asleep before our heads even hit a pillow. The next morning, I woke up, put on my "Coming this winter" Old Navy shirt and headed downstairs to where the rest of my family was getting the house ready for the shower. After seeing pics on my blog and hearing my stories about the doctor getting on me for my weight, I think they were surprised to not find me wobbling and huffing and puffing as I cam around the corner. My sister still can't grasp that my belly is growing. I am thinking that her idea to adopt all of her children might just be a great one. And side note, later in the week, I wore a blue turtleneck, of which Seth said I kinda reminded him of Violet from Willy Wonka who ate the everlasting gobstopper and blew up like a blueberry and had to be rolled out. Thanks Seth, what a compliment.
My feet swelled for the first time since being with child. It scared Seth and made me cry until my mom convinced me that it was normal and would probably only be getting worse.
About 15 minutes before we walked out of the door for Virginia, my doctor called me to inform me that my glucose test didn't go so hot and that I should lay off of the sugar until I got back from Thanksgiving and could go for the 3 hour glucose test. Great news, right? The only thing I requested was chocolate pie!!! Well, I still ate some and now I am gearing up for a miserable morning of hunger on Friday since this test is 3 hours long and I can't eat for about 16 hours straight.
The rest of the week was great. The shower was more than I thought it was going to be. My mom went all out and it was sad when everyone left and we had to put the food away and take down the decorations.
Thanksgiving was delicious. Seth got his fair share of mac and cheese and I loved all of the food. We also had a baby belly photo shoot, of which I will be posting the pics soon. My mom took them and they turned out better than I even expected, except for my fat face (of which had nothing to do with the photographer or her camera!) Oh well, fat face is well worth it to have a baby :)
Leaving to go home was so sad. I moped the whole way home, until Seth stopped for Starbucks and took me into a Marshalls where we found a Boppy for $20!!! Well worth the stop :)
We made it home and I am still tired and wishing I could be back in Virginia, laying on my parents couch, eating homemade dinner that I didn't have to cook and watching TV while we make fun of each other. Oh well, when the baby comes it will be even more fun! Plus my parents are planning on coming in January and I say "pretty please with a cherry on top" to them not changing their minds. Of course when I told Cameron to say "pretty please with a cherry on top" she said, "but will you eat my cherry, I don't like it" :) Gotta love her.

A Belly Thanksgiving!!!

To make up for my lack of posting, I am going to make this post super huge!!! Here goes:

My brother. My sister is missing from these pics because she is on the CD of pictures that I am too lazy to go upload right now!

My mom and I on Thanksgiving.

Every year, after we eat, this is how you will find my dad. Every year!

Our baby shower!!!

My mom made soaps with baby things inside. They were so cute. Cameron said that the soap was for giving the baby a shower. How funny is that? She took baby shower literally!

My mom even decorated the bathroom!!!

Cammy helped me open all of my presents. This one is my boy baby doll from when I was little. My mom found it and wrapped it up for me to open. Cammy calls this, "The baby with the hoo hoo." hahahaha

Go Virginia Tech! He is going to look so cute in this!!!

The beautiful table of delicious food that I couldn't stop eating!!!

Me and my mom (and Cammy) at the shower.

My mom made this picture of Seth and I from when we were babies to put out at the shower. And I took it home with me!!!

We got in to my family's house at 1:45am the night before the shower. Right after the shower, we were so tired but we really wanted to see Seth's sister before she left the next morning, so we rushed out straight from the shower to meet up with Hannah and two of Seth's closest friends.

My mom made this sign for our shower. Cute huh?

My mom did two photoshoots of Seth and I. I am so glad she did, because going to get them taken somewhere are way too expensive! Plus, she did a great job. These are two that she took with my camera. I have the CD's that she made for me from her camera, but I am going to save those for another post!
