Christmas

Merry Christmas to all.

Thinking of the most important part of Christmas...
 Jesus.
I pray this season that you will be blessed by the love He so freely gives and thankful for His sacrifice to us.
He is the true meaning of Christmas.

Here is a video of Caleb....pretty hilarious if you asked me.  Apparently he knows how to follow directions...and we don't even have video of him doing the cha cha slide!
This is at his Aunt Hannah's wedding :)

Our Week

We had a busy, fun and very busy week...

We met with some friends to play with choo choo's before we ran about 10 million errands...look at these two.  Does it get much sweeter?  They are exactly a year apart!  Thomas has a birthday February 20 and Caleb's is February 18.  Plus Thomas has a really cool mommy which makes hanging out even more fun :)

I snuck away for a couple of hours and spent some glorious and yet frustrating time in the fitting room at Motherhood...apparently the only maternity place in town. I did find some fabulous black pants that feel like a dream and a couple of comfy shirts.  I like to take pics of what I try on because it helps me decide if it looks good or not...then I go back home and look through the pics I took and laugh bc my faces are pretty funny.

We also went to visit the Fire Station this week.  Caleb was a wee bit scared of the huge firetrucks and the scary equipment BUT he warmed up after the firemen put on a puppet show about stop, drop and rolling :)

The really weird part of the week for me.  I have been working on some crafts for an Easter article in a local magazine.  It's pretty funny to be sitting in one room with my Christmas tree and decorations and then walk into the office to a table covered in Easter things.  I am very excited about the article though!

Someone got a little nap time in...after he asked me if I would bring him some coffee so he could wake up...haha!

Made Seth take a picture of Caleb and I on our way across the street to hang out with our super fun neighbors.

I was pretty sure an elf showed up in my house but I was quickly corrected.
This is, indeed, Santa Clause.
He walks around, talking in a deep voice and saying "Ho! Ho! Ho! I Santa Cwause"
Then he takes the hat off and says, "It's me! Caweb!!!"
I'm sure glad he took the hat off and told us, otherwise we wouldn't have known!

Happy Friday everyone!
We start our journey to Texas for a wedding and Christmas.  Caleb gets to meet his cousins for the VERY FIRST time!  I am beyond ecstatic...I mean look at the these cute, super well behaved kids...I think someone's gonna have a fun Christmas :)

Plus, he hasn't seen his Honey and Pop in a year, so this visit is LONG overdue...now I just hope he cooperates as a ring bearer!

Waxy

Yesterday, Caleb and I did a little crayon craft.

We taped crayons onto a canvas.

Very sporadically.

Then we used a little hair drying power.

 Starting to look cool!

Gets a little messy, but it wouldn't be as much fun if it was a clean craft.
Some of our crayons fell off, but we just held them on.

We kept on blow drying until we liked what we saw.

Ta da!
The power of wax, a blow dryer and a kid who might turn out to be a scientist.

Summer Version:  I was thinking that it would be fun to cut crayons up and lay them on the canvas out in the hot sun, then check back every hour or so to see the progress.  Plus, my hand wouldn't be so tired from holding a hair dryer... ;-)

We stayed home all day yesterday and this really helped break up our day.  It was a craft that took longer than 5 minutes...and those are the ones I really love!

Sweet Saturday

Came across this and almost cried...pregnancy hormones I am sure are the culprit.  BUT, I do love my little boy.  Not sure if another little boy or a little girl is in my tummy, but I will love them too.

Life is about to change so much for us in the Spring.  I'm scared and excited, all at the same time.  I love my Caleb so much and it's hard to imagine what our life will be like sharing that love with another little one...but two things are for sure, there is a lot of love in this family and Caleb is going to make an awesome big brother...and I mean awesome.

We've been chillin'...cookin'...playin'

Hi everyone!
We've had a somewhat laid back week this week.
Our small group Christmas party for church was last night and I made a couple of Pinterest inspired appetizers...they were good...so. good.

Mini pigs in a blanket, shaped into a wreath with red bell pepper bow...and I made a cranberry BBQ dipping sauce...YUM

This would be a cookie brownie with cookies n' cream candy bars and chocolate chips among other amazing ingredients.

We had a lot of fun and we were sooo tired and ready for bed afterwards...so we went to sleep.  I was awakened by a little person saying, "Mommy, I lay down wif you?"
This has never happened before but I was so tired, I just grabbed him up and laid him in the bed with us...he fell fast asleep.
Then, about 7am, I was awakened again by a foot in my side...someone decided to take up the whole bed and kick the rest of us out.  It was cute, as long as it doesn't become an every night thing!

Then, the little zombie was surprised with his very own play nativity.  I thought about making our own but honestly, Caleb's too little to really help me make it and I would rather just buy this plastic one so that we can keep it for years and years...he was slightly excited.
He opened it and said, "Baby Jesus!"
Very excited that somehow, he already knows about baby Jesus in the manger.  I was waiting until I bought this nativity and I also bought a book to explain to him about Jesus and Christmas but he already has a head start...that little smarty pants.
Just goes to show they watch and listen all the time, even when you don't think they are!
