My 2 Hour Dress

Thanks to this cute tutorial- I made myself a new dress in less than 2 hours and I think really like it.  The great thing about being able to make your own clothes is that you can custom fit them and you can make things that you could never find in the stores...plus I already had everything I needed to make it, so essentially this cost me $0, and what could be better than a free dress?  ;)

Sick Week

Sorry for the lack and non-creativity of the blog posts lately.  Caleb and I have been under the weather.  Caleb started last weekend with a cold of some sorts and it lasted from Saturday to Tuesday, he still has a stuffy nose.  Then, Wednesday I went to my aerobics class and when I got home, I felt awful.  I blamed it on the class being a little more intense that day.  Thursday I woke up and Ijust wanted to go back to sleep, but of course with a 10 month old, that wasn't happening.  Caleb was really good.  I made a bed on the couch and he stayed in his exersaucer for an entire hour playing and watching Little Bill.  It was nice to relax but what I really wanted to do was go to sleep.  I finally laid Caleb down for his nap and I went to take mine as well.  I was in and out of sleep for an hour when I realized that Caleb was still refusing to take his nap.  Long story short, my husband came home at 5 and took Caleb to Walmart so they could get me some soup and crackers.  I was able to take a wondrous nap all by myself.  Yesterday was no better, which really stinks because Seth has a 4 day weekend. We had made plans to spend the entire day touring the Infantry museum and walking around the riverwalk downtown.  It was a beautiful day in  the 60's! Me and my sickness ruined it though :(  Seth let me sleep all morning and into the afternoon.  I have never slept so much when I was sick, but that seems to be all I can do.  I have every symptom of the flu, with no temperature (thank you Jesus).  I took oscillococcinum and I have been feeling much better.  I have an awful cough and I just woke up from a nap... but I am feeling a million times better and so is Caleb.  I hope none of you are under the weather today, and if you are make sure to get some oscillococcinum- it is competely and utterly wonderful!!!  I promise more "good" posts will be headed your way soon :)

Baby luvas all ova...

I saw this on one of the blogs I follow and it made me smile.  Being a mom to an almost one year old (of which I truly truly can not believe!!!) this was very interesting.  I can't wait to see it :)

And to think that I worry about Caleb's toys falling in the floor when we are out and about...

Interior Designer for free!

I have a free interior designer- I love his eclectic taste! ;) ;)

Speaking of interior design.  Today we went to a starving artists art sale.  They had beautiful oil paintings at amazing prices.  It inspired me to start painting again :)  I have a big wall that is in need of art so I had better get crackin'!
Happy lazy Sunday :)  I am off to take a nap and dream about painting.

Spring, where are you?

I forgot to brag...

on my husband!  For Christmas, he was super sneaky and bought me this Movado watch!!!  We always set a budget for each others gifts, and every year he breaks our budget rules... but I have to say that he is really good at gift giving.  He has an eye for nice things and on special occasions I really enjoy his tastes :)  Thanks hunny bunny doodle all the day.  I really love it!
Now I can stop saying, "Does anybody know the exact time?" (I like to know the exact time.  If it is 6:34, I don't want someone to tell me it's 6:30, I want them to say, "It's 6:34" Does anyone else share my time proficiency?)  Anyways, the point I am trying to make is that I didn't deserve a watch, I didn't need a watch, but my husband rocks (and so does my wrist)!!!

Shop Update!

After taking a long break (moving, Christmas, New Years) I have returned to my part time job :)  My nanny got me a serger for Christmas and I am having "fun" figuring it out- threading it made me want to throw it out the window though.  However, I finally got it running and me and Mr. Serg are buddies again.  Here are my latest creations:

Baby, It's Cold Outside!

I am headed to woman's bible study in a few hours and it is cold out there- even in Georgia!!!  I wanted to put some dream outfits together that I would like to wear today, with a coat and I can't forget my coffee- especially not today.  I have been up since 5 and it's colddddd.

Can't Sleep!!!

It is 4:50am and I can't go back to sleep! Seth already left for work.  He has a 3 week class that starts today and he had to be there at 5:15- talk about a huge change of pace after being pretty much off of work since almost the beginning of December!  I haven't had to think about the dreaded months ahead of us because we have had so much fun together, but now reality is setting in.  Seth will be deploying very soon and I am just not ready.  I don't think there is any way to ready yourself for deployment, but I am just reallllllyy not ready one little bit.  I am really good about not thinking about things if I don't want to, and that is exactly what I have been doing.  Now, with Seth at this 3 week school that he hopes will prepare him even more for deployment, things are getting serious and I realize that in just a few weeks he will not be around.  The hardest part is knowing that he won't be around to see Caleb take his first step and say his first words.  We are going to buy Seth a net book with a camera in it so we can hopefully skype.  I can only pray that Caleb will still be able to remember Seth when he comes back home.  I knew this day was coming, I was just hoping that maybe, for some reason, it wouldn't.  We just moved into our house and we still don't even have blinds up yet.  There are so many things to do before he leaves, and at the same time we are trying to spend as much time as we can together as a family.  We already had the security system installed.  Seth and I both agreed that since he was going to be gone, a security system was a must have.  But I am still a big scaredy cat (afterall, I just joined the fan page on facebook called "I don't hang my feet over the edge of the bed, I am afraid a monster will grab it")  Last night Seth tossed and turned so much that neither one of us could sleep.  Then he had to leave at 4:30.  I am already tired and the day hasn't even really begun yet.  I had planned on going to aerobics class at our new (and amazing) church we have been going to.  I am just not sure if that will happen or not.  Anyways, I just needed to get this off my mind.  Maybe now I can go back to sleep for a couple of hours.  Besides this, our new year has been a great one.  Something about knowing your time together is short changes everything.  Happy Monday everyone, hopefully you all got more sleep than we did!!! :)
