Homemade orange cinnamon potpourri. . .smells good :)

Thanksgiving in September. . .Here you go Hannah :)

Orange Cinnamon Potpourri

~The peel from at least one orange, preferably 2
~Cinnamon sticks or ground cinnamon
~Nutmeg (optional but makes it smell even better!)
~Cloves (optional ")
~Water

Mix all of this in a small pot. Pour the water in until it is about 1-2 inches from top of pot. Put it on the stove on low let it simmer, and smell Thanksgiving! You will have to add more water depending on how long you leave it on your stove. Just make sure you don't leave the house and forget! You can also add apple cider to the pot for an apple and orange cinnamon smell. I haven't tried that one yet, but I saw it in a recipe for potpourri and if I ever get cider I will try it.

Or if you don't have time to go through all that trouble, I found a candle at Wal-mart that I love and I got the small glass one for only $1! It smells a lot like fall too, it is called "Mulled Cider". I think it smells similiar to Yankee candles "Harvest" but the smell fills up the room better and it is a lot cheaper!

This is my favorite time of year! I always get pumpkin spice candles for the house for fall, and then during the Christmas season I get baked apple cinnamon. I am going to try the orange and cinnamon on the stove this weekend, sounds like a great idea!
