My brother is stuck in my head

The "mandoliner" himself

Today, after reading an excerpt from a book, my brother is stuck in my head and therefore, I am inspired to write about him. Maybe it is because we are both goofballs or maybe it's because he was forced to partake in every pre-prom photo shoot and hoer devour session of mine when he was growing up and this year, I will miss his senior prom. Who knows, but the the kid makes me laugh. I am thinking back now to all of his superman dress up sessions. I have his four year old image permanently stashed in my mental photo box. He has whitey tighties on and a blue teddy bear blanket tied around his neck, at least that's what it was to the rest of us, but that "get up" transformed him at a moments notice into the greatest super hero of all time, a super hero with a lisp (but they are the best kind). Seth (my brother) is 4 years younger than me, and when I was in 3rd grade and had my best friend, Becca, over he was a relentless helicopter, hovering over us. "Go away Seth!", "Mama, Seth won't leave us alone!" But whenever Becca and I had the urge to be fashionista's, guess who was there to be our mannequin? You guessed it, my brother. The best part was when my dad got home from work and Seth was running around the house in a princess dress. We always got a kick out of that one. Somehow over time, the four years between us kind of dissentagrated. Now we get along great, and I would let him hang out with me forever! He was on a football team that won two state championships and his latest passion (which I think will stick) is playing the mandolin and he rocks! He is one of the coolest kids you could ever hope to meet, much less be friends with. Anyways, I will make it to his highschool graduation, so have no fear, I havent totally ruined my sisterly role yet, and now he can come to California and visit me! What better place to go on a vacation than the desert? ;)

nice post about your bro. so that makes you only 22??? so young! we've been in for 4 1/2 years. i figured you were at benning because that is where airbournes train. why is your stuff going into storage in may?? especially if you're not moving until fall? i'm assuming you're having the army move you and not doing it yourself. have you gotten information about housing there? if you go to armyonestop, you can find out a ton of stuff about each post. some posts let you apply for on post housing before you arrive as long as you have orders, others won't let you apply until you arrive. oh, and i have two blogs. one is a fam one, and the first one you found is my personal one. sometimes there are things i don't want my parents or my inlaws reading about. just my thing i guess. anyway, if you have questions, you can ask. sometimes thats the only way to find things out in the military. they rarely tell you the truth when you first get it in. i don't understand that, but whatever. can't change the retarded drill sergeants. and i'm assuming since you found me on the lds womens blogger, i'm assuming you're lds too?

you are funny! and it's fine that you added me. did you link to my fam blog or to my other one? either one is fine. you may have to actually call the housing office at fort irwin. lots of times they are so overwhelmed that they aren't able to respond. so, give them a little bit of time and then call them. i know a lot about living out of a suitcase. many many times. and living in hotels for weeks on end waiting for our house to be avaliable. such (not) fun. especially with two kids....see if you guys can get a sponser at fort irwin. kind of like POC for questions and help when you arrive. we've never had one, but i've heard they exist..:)

What a nice post about your brother. I would give any thing to have a close relationship with my brother. I guess if things haven't changed by now they may not (He is 32 and Im 30). We still are at each others throats when were around each other but he loves my kids more than life so its all good I guess.
