Just a little tipperoo
Since this blog is called "Remember me? I'm in the army too!" I suppose I should post something about army life every now and then, huh? Today, I was on coupon.com trying to find diaper coupons. I started looking through all of their coupons. Most all of them are for $1.00 off or more, but they are all brand name products and I shop at wal-mart and usually buy the great value brand. The commissary carries all name brand at great prices, but we still can shop cheaper at Wal-mart with the great value brand (only by a few cents for each item, but it really does add up in the end). I started thinking about how great it would be to be able to use coupons.com coupons at the commissary but I doubted that the commissary accepted coupons since the prices were already so low and we don't have to pay taxes. I picked up the phone and gave the commissary a little ring-a-ling. And guess what? They totally accept coupons (hmmm, this warm air is making me sound like a Californian :)). I can't wait to get back home and use my coupons at the commissary to see if my grocery bill is lower than my wal-mart bill!!! The only thing that stinks is that the Commissary is not open on Mondays, which is when I usually do my grocery shopping and it is not a one stop shop store like Wal-mart, but whatever. If I save money it will be well worth it. So, for all my fellow military families, take a look at coupons.com (or any coupons for that matter). Maybe I am preaching to the choir. Please let me know if any of you have price compared. I would love to know what you think is cheaper!!!

Also, did you know that some of the commissaries will take expired coupons????? Let me know if ours does!
Josh and I did a comparison of Great Value Wal-mart brand and Commissary name brand stuff, and we found that the Commissary's name brand stuff almost always came up cheaper (even without using coupons!). The only things that seemed to be cheaper at Wal-mart was the produce, and the canned items. That's what we found, anyways!
I forget who said this, but Wal-Mart brand (and Sam's) diapers are no good, so I'd say avoid those. What brand do you like? *logs away for future reference*
And have you considered cloth diapers? I'm curious for your opinion. :)
I could find MOST things cheaper at the commissary, but there were those times it was cheaper other places.
call and ask if they take expired coupons, cause I had heard they did. it may be post to post I don't know. doesn't hurt to ask.
