Winner and Saturday Fave's

Thank you everyone who entered the giveaway!  We had such a GREAT response!!!
The winner of the $25 gift card is #4: Karen who said,
"I'm new to your blog - but I really enjoy reading it :) I like the minky satin baby blanket - my little gal would LOVE something like that :)"
Congrat's Karen!!!
An e-mail has been sent your way :)

Today is Saturday and we are setting up part of the nursery! Exciting and scary at the same time...Caleb is really excited though.  He thinks this baby needs a bed and I'd have to agree.  After we get the baby bed set up, I can start decorating the room.  It will be a little bit challenging since we don't know if we are having a boy or girl but I am sooo up for the decorating challenge!
Here are some pictures that have inspired me:

With so many amazing nursery ideas, I am completely overwhelmed with what to do!  I do know that I am more than likely going with a blue, green and yellow scheme...besides that, I am up a creek without a paddle!  What are some of your favorite nursery ideas???

Peek in my kitchen window

I'm slightly fascinated with other people's houses!  Wouldn't it be fun to go from house to house, peeping in and taking a look at the way other people live? Okay, maybe I am sounding creepy now...

Here is my kitchen.  You can look...I won't call you creepy.

Bumbo seat, in the seat and don't you love my puke green towel that I didn't see until now

Milk glass and white ceramic...divine!

My seafoam Martha Stewart canisters and beaded board backsplash...Martha may be high maintenance but I sure do love her stuff

I'm convinced that hardwood flooring is the best thing that could ever happen to a home

Every kitchen must have an oversized fork and spoon, otherwise it just isn't a kitchen

More milk glass...eep!

The Caleb special.  I was looking for my eraser last night to do my homework and I couldn't find it anywhere...opened up the dishwasher this morning and lo and behold....that little stinky head

DIY Coral Wall Art

Art is so much cheaper (and more fun!) when you do it yourself...and you don't have to be an "artist" to create your own!  I decided to paint a coral painting for my bedroom.  Here's how you can do it too...
I started by purchasing a blank canvas (mine is 24"x30") and a little bottle of acrylic paint in the color I needed.  Then I looked up pictures of coral online until I found one that tickled my fancy.  If you don't want to do coral, the sky is the limit! You can do just about anything you want!

This took me a good two hours.  I waited until Caleb went down for a nap and then I pulled out the paint, turned on some music and made a little latte...I had fun :)

Patriotic Candy Flags

I LOVE July 4th! It is quite possibly my favorite holiday for many reasons.  I have always been a self proclaimed lover of all things patriotic...no wonder I married a military man!  Even my favorite song is the National Anthem (Star Spangled Banner)

Here are some cute candy American "flags" that would be perfect for a little July 4th treat.
All you need are some blue candies (I used m&m's from Fresh Market but you can find solid colored candies at just about any craft store) and some peppermint sticks.  The rest is pretty self explanatory :)

Aren't these fun...and yummy!?

I saw a similar craft in Martha Stewart Living but I changed mine up a little because I had never heard of the candies she used!
My mind is filled with all kinds of other July 4th crafts...do you have any to share?

On a side note, my sister in law is having a $25 Visa gift card giveaway! Head on over to enter!

Big Boy Room

We are moving in exactly one month.  When we unpack, we will not be setting up Caleb's baby crib.  Instead, we picked out a great twin bed set for his big boy room!  It's bittersweet for me.  I have so much fun watching him grow up and learn new things but at the same time I am so sad to see him go from my little baby to a little boy.
However, I AM excited to decorate his new big boy room!  I have found so many great ideas that I can't choose just one!
Here are a few inspiration rooms I have found:

(The walls in his new room are very similar to the color in this picture):

Any favorites?

Will you help me with my bathroom?

I am in a little dilema for my hall/guest/Caleb's bathroom. I can't decide whether to make it a guest-ish bathroom with a pretty shower curtain, or a kid-ish bathroom for Caleb.
I have found a few really cute shower curtains...so will you help me decide which one I should get for the bathroom?

4. Or one very similiar to this striped one (except the blue is a little lighter) that I found second hand:

What do you think???

1,2,3 or 4?

Before and After Spray Paint Makeovers!

Patio Furniture Before:

And after a few coats of some Krylon Spray Paint!

And some stripe detailing with a foam brush and "French Vanilla" Acrylic paint, which really looks yellowish, but I like it!

$5 Gina's Junk Table Before (Pretty but Rusty!):

And AFTER:

I used some silver metallic spray paint!

Have you done any thrift store makeovers lately?
