Salads madame

Okay, Southern fried salad won with 7 votes! And Ceasar came in at a close 2nd with 5 votes! And for the one person that says, Yuck! I hate salad. . . I know who you are but I won't say names. . . Joey. Please vote on the next poll (even though I still have to come up with it) hahaha.

A day in the life of. . . Me!

4:10am- 2 alarms start off the day, or Seth's rather. Today is a ruck march day (we have a nickname for it "ruck suck" pretty self explanatory I think, although I hate to use that word, if only a ruck was called a rink and then we could say "rink stink")
5:20am- I roll over and look at the clock, wishing I could make myself go back to bed b/c it's still way too early to be up!
6:00am- Finally! Sleeping. . .
7:20am- Phone rings, it's Seth "Hey, can you let me in?" me, "sure" He takes his shower and gets back in bed for a few more minutes asking "Can we have macaroni and cheese for lunch?" I say,"I don't have the cheese" he says "Oh, okay, well we can have anything" and asleep we are.
8:15am- Seth leaves for the day, I toss and turn, trying to go back to sleep b/c I still am not ready for the world
10:20am- Shocked I slept so late (but not really, considering all the bathroom breaks I have been taking throughout the night, plus the almost two hour toss session I had at 4:10)
10:45am- Up and about. Two organic pop tarts, a bowl of strawberries and cream oatmeal and a cup of milk, checking my e-mail, a girl I went to school with who was two years older randomly messages me and we talk about being military wives, an interesting and nice start to the day
11:15am- Look at the clock, decide to run to the commissary and get cheese for lunch (how sweet am I? haha)
12:00pm- Seth calls "where are you?" I hurry up and finish at the commissary and PX and head home
12:30pm- Seth is eating mac and cheese (thanking me for going to get cheese), I am eating a pita like the kind they make at Hickory farms, yummm, I tell Seth we are having Kosher hotdogs on wheat buns and organic french fries (we are trying to eat healthierrrrr). He says, "Ooooo, do we have chili???" Of course we don't have chili! Why couldnt we have had this conversation an hour ago, before I went to the commissary??? Again he says it is alright, but I know that if I am going to have a successful hotdog dinner, I need to go back to the commissary
1:00pm- Seth goes back to work, I get on the computer to start my homework, but I get distracted by the TV and facebook and e-mail, then I get some pineapple for lunch dessert. . . actually I am procrastinating!
3:00pm- finally start homework. . .
4:00pm- head hurts, done with homework, covered more than I planned! Who says a late start is a bad start? Tv time, even though I really should be cleaning, cleaning day tomorrow especially since the hallway (the only area we have right now that will fit laundry) is overflowing with laundry
4:50pm- leave for post office, go to commissary once again
5:30pm- return home! Start dinner, wash dishes, clean kitchen
6:00pm- Seth is on his way
6:30pm- Eat, clean up, start homework with Seth (after spending 4 hours on Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday working on his homework, the army doesnt kid about homework!)
7:00om- We realize we don't have alcohol to erase the mistakes we make with map markers, so I head out to the mini mall while Seth starts his homework (3rd trip out today!)
9:30pm- I finish my part of his homework (I blow maps up, drawing them with map pens, which takes a lot longer than it seemed it would because I actually had to do it pretty close to scale, but larger!) Seth is still working, I am updating my blog and watching the Olympics
9:57pm- I keep asking Seth if he is almost done, he keeps saying "gettin there" hmmm, I wonder what that equals to in minutes? But the key is don't ask too many questions when an army man is doing homework, haha. So, my eyes are sleepy, today was pretty uneventful and one of my most lazy days in a while, but it felt just fine to spend too much time watching TV and not enough on homework, tomorrow, I promise to put my studies first. . .right? And to not make 3 trips out. One for all and all for one, no matter what food requests come my way. Tomorrow is spaghetti night anyways, and I have everything I need for that, plus some good french bread I got at the bakery :)
10:06- Shower time. Wishing tomorrow I could make more onesies instead of post on my class forum about international business, I am overwhelmed by the thought of this class already! Okay, done wishing. Gymnastics are on and I am ready to get in the bed! I miss all of my family in Virginia and can't wait till next Friday when we pack up the car and make the 9 hour drive to visit! This will be the last break we will get until we leave in October, so we are making the most of it! Counting down the days to see our family and friends again, and on that note, I can sleep soundly (with the help of my pregnancy safe sleep aid!) :) Good night to all!

Does it get any cuter???

Yesterday I went to my mailbox to find this! My aunt found it at the beach and said she had to buy it. How cute is this ruffly bikini? She said that if it isn't a girl she would go and find a speedo, haha. But now I just have to have a girl because I can't wait to put her in this! Thanks Tamara :)

And this one is spoooooky. haha, I made it for halloween, it's called "Happy Halloweeny." When my mom was in elementary school a kid told her a joke on Halloween. He said, "What do you call a hotdog on halloween?". . . "A Halloweeny!" hahaha, and she laughed so hard that milk came out of her nose and she was embarrassed. So every Halloween, I like to use that joke. :)

Phelps Phan

Have you seen that commercial where the girl, who calls herself Phelps Phan, is obsessed with Michael Phelps, and her phone service is bad so she misses the call that he is right down the street signing autographs? Well, I never knew who Michael Phelps was, so that commercial didn't mean very much for me. . .that is until I started watching the Olympics. I am now GLUED to the Olympics. I can't stop watching it, and swimming is my absolute favorite! Plus, Michael Phelps is unreal, as in he is working on getting his ninth gold medal, yes I said NINTH! I really do think he is part fish. I have turned into a complete Olympics junkie. So, if you havent watched any yet, I give you permission to become a TV addict until Aug 26! Tell me if you think Phelps is as good as I do.

If you can't beat em', join em'

Okay, so I am tired of trying to squeeze into my jeans that clearly do not fit me anymore. Seth reminded me that they were all tight to begin with and that I shouldn't be upset that they don't fit me now. My response was "You thought my jeans were too tight???"(which also brought back flooding memories of the conversations my parents and I use to have in highschool, I guess some things never change!) I keep on asking him, "Okay, do I look pregnant yet or do I just look like I have a fat belly?" I think I am still at the fat belly stage, you know, the dreaded muffin top. Well, I found this cool website where you can create sets of pretty much anything. Today, I am creating a set of casual maternity clothes, that look absolutely, completely comfy. Since I will be at my biggest during the cold months, cute little summer dresses (which would have been so much easier than pants) are out of the question, hence my long sleeve shirts and pants choices(except for the one red tank that I just really liked). So instead of fighting the belly, I am officially embracing it and after I win the jackpot at BINGO today, I will be on my way to Louisville to purchase all of the above, haha :)

Back to School!

Yes, that's right. . . I am going back to school!!! I graduated college May 07' and had no intention of furthering my education, one degree was hard enough!!! Call me crazy, but I have the school bug and for a few months now have been trying to get the nerve up to enroll in a masters program. So, after some encouragement from a friend of mine and my husband, I am officially a grad student! My classes start Aug. 18. I told Seth I need a new back pack, pretty notebooks and pens, and of course new school clothes! Then he reminded me that it was an online class and the most I would probably need would be a notebook. Oh well, I tried. Thanks Sethy for paying for my school and for being even more excited than I am that I am going back to school again, and thanks Liberty University for giving military spouses AMAZING discounts. If any of you want to go back to school, I have the school for you :)

Cammy Club

So yesterday I called my sister who was on her way to Water Country with my family for vacation. I wanted to talk to 3 year old Cammy for a minute (who loves babies and is very interested in my baby). Here is how our conversation went:

Me: Cammy are you on your way to the water park?
Cammy: uh huh
Me: Oh Cammy! I want to come, can I come with you??? Pleaseeee. . .
Cammy: No Silly! You can't get your baby wet! (giggle giggle)
Me: (trying to control my laughing) Cammy, my baby is in my tummy swimming right now!
Cammy: hahaha
Me: So Cammy, what do you think I should name this baby?
Cammy: Cammy!
(sister in background says "No Cameron,we can't have 2 Cammy's!")
Me: Do you have another name?
Cammy: om. . . yes, Hannah Montana!!!

A few family pics

My mom sent me an online album of my family and what they have been doing this summer. I thought I would steal a few, I mean post a few because I really like them. Plus she has the best camera in the whole world.


This is one my mom took after church one day when we were visiting, this was also the day I left my wallet on the top of the car and Seth had to go back to the busy road and play roadrunner to get all the contents he could find from my wallet. He found all the important stuff, so these are our happy faces :)

Here is Cammy in the sweater my mom made. This is the little Cammy who thinks I have a baby in my belly because I ate a lot of food. She then proceeded to say that she also ate a lot of food and she is going to have a baby too. I sure do miss that little mess.

We finally found. . .

Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky

Okay, we try to go to Louisville every chance we get. Mostly because there isn't that much to do right around here, and whenever we can get away from the army for a minute and feel half way normal, we take the opportunity! This weekend, we knew of this church in Louisville (thanks Kristen) that is supposed to be really good and it happens to be the largest church in Kentucky. Since we came from a large church, this church was the closest we have come to feeling like we're back home again. Don't get me wrong, we still love our home church but this one works for us while we're away! The great part about it is that they have Saturday evening church and "Sunday" school as well as Sunday services, which is great for us because sometimes Seth has Saturdays off and sometimes he has Sundays off (and sometimes he has neither off). So, we went and it was a GREAT service. It was well worth our 45 minute drive to get there. Then we went to a restaurant called Cheddars, which we fell in love with in Georgia and were very excited to find that Louisville had one as well. Then we ended our evening watching the third Mummy movie, which was also excellent, but I miss Rachel Weiz being in it :( Anyways, all of this to say how very lucky we feel to have found a church that we really like for our next few months in Kentucky. On a side note, I just found out last night that Seth has the possibility of getting re-assigned duty stations in his last few weeks of Bolc III. So, now I am not sure what to plan on. We are planning on California, but if his class is anything like the one that just graduated, most of the guys will get re-assigned. I don't know whether that is annoying of exciting. I think a little of both!

Baby in my belly

So, today was our first ultrasound. Unfortunately Seth wasn't able to go, but besides that everything went great! The baby is measuring almost exactly 12 weeks, so my due date will stay Feb. 11, 2009 even though technically (going on the measurements from today)the due date is Feb. 14. They said we are going to stay with Feb. 11 though. I heard the heart beat too! It is very fast. There is some myth that if the heart beat is on the faster side of the scale, then it's going to be a girl and if it is slower, than it is going to be a boy. But my nurse said she didn't believe it because she had seen too many of the opposites come out! They went into all the different tests I can have to check for down-syndrome and cystic fibrosis. Pretty much what I gathered from that is this: If I check for them and they come out positive, there is nothing we can do to fix it. However she said that they like to check for them this early on so that if we decided we didn't want to live with the expense of having a child with a disability, then we can do something about it (I don't even want to use the word, but I think you can gather what she was getting at). Since we aren't going to do anything about our baby regardless of what disability he/she may have, then I see no need in testing for it. Plus, the down-syndrome test that they do at the hospital will give a 1 in 5 chance of a false positive result. So, as not to worry ourselves with needless worry, I don't see these tests as helpful. God gave us this baby and God will make this make to be whatever He wants it to be. God will never give us more than we can handle, so here's to a healthy baby. My next appointment is the end of August and I am already praying that Seth will be able to go. I made it as late in the day as I could, so we will see! Anyways, we are really excited. I am not really showing yet, and I have only gained one pound. I wish I only gained one pound every trimester. That would mean 3 total pounds gained!!! hahaha, I will keep dreaming :)

New Onesie!

Okay, this baby is sucking my energy and creativity out of me which is the majority of my brain! I made myself make this onesie that I have had in my head for a few weeks now. It is a spin off of the french words "oui oui" which are pronounced "wee wee". Kinda funny huh? I always wanted to paint those words over the back of my toilet whenever I got my own house. A baby onesie will work for now though. Hope you like it :)

What do you think about this quote?

I watched "Brooke knows best" this morning and saw this episode where Brooke Hogan (daughter of Hulk Hogan) makes this quote. Later, I read it on my aol news. They are calling this quote a "Potent Quotable". Put all your feminism aside, and think about what your true, deep down reaction to this quote would be. Do her words have any merit? Should she have been put in the dumb quotes category or the something to think about category? I personally don't think it is a completely dumb statement. I am not saying that I don't think that a woman can be president, but I am saying that women typically are moodier than men, especially during menopause years. I know I could never take the stress of being the president! Now, the way she said it, with her bleach blonde hair and deep v dress on may not have helped her thought to come across the way she planned, but the words themself are interesting. I would love to know what you think about it.

p.s. I am very into voting, and since my husband fights for my right to vote, I do disagree whole heartedly with her on the "not all that into voting" comment.

Our Anniversary and Chocolate' poll

Okay, so I just wanted to post some pictures of our anniversary. Don't you love it when it's just the two of you and no one else around to take a pic and don't you just love my corny kiss picture and my finger saying "1 year baby!!!" ??? Here is the best we could do with our 10 second delay timer. And if anyone tries to tell you you can freeze a cake and eat it a year later, don't believe them. We did taste it. The cake part tasted like I licked the freezer but the icing wasn't so bad. We didn't do much damage to it though. I think Seth was thinking we were going to have dessert, haha. Dessert backup was needed!
Speaking of dessert, I guess you guys favorite is Twix. I must say that Twix and Hershey bar with Almond tied for me. I like to eat the chocolate and caramel off the top and eat the graham cracker last! Second place was Milky Way, which is Seth's favorite and definitely not mine, and then Peanut m&m's and Hershey bar tied for 3rd! Thanks for voting guys. I hope to have another one up soon. And by the way Joey, I am the one who said you were nuts for taking your boy to the batman movie. haha, I just wanted to be different :)

Celebrating one year in Louisville!

Seth thinks this one is really funny. I am not exactly sure of what he was doing, but he thinks it's hilarious.

10 weeks prego, and probably one of the last times I will be able to wear this bathing suit for a while. I got it when we went on our honeymoon!

This is my man. I have been craving fried chicken the last few weeks, so it's a good thing I am in Kentucky.

Okay, so before we even moved here Seth and I found out about this hotel called the Brown Hotel, and we thought it would be nice to go and spend the night there one night. Well, when we were in Louisville this weekend, we found out that the Brown Hotel is named after by none other than, yep you guessed it, the Brown-Pusey family!!! They really are following us. Maybe they are trying to tell us something????

Okay, this weekend had to be one of the best of Seth and mines marriage life. Today is our one year anniversary. I have our half frozen cake on the counter, waiting to be eaten tonight. Seth thinks it's gonna taste good, haha. Anyways, Friday we went to the waterpark and had a great time. It is such a nice park, and only 3 buckaroo's to get in. Saturday we woke up and went straight to Louisville. We checked out downtown, went to an art museum and then headed to the mall. Seth surprised me and bought me 2 pairs of maternity pants from Old Navy and a shirt and jacket from Forever 21. I am ecstatic. I already cant fit into my pants, so I have been wearing knit exercise pants and dresses the last 3 weeks. I hated to buy maternity pants already, but these things are comfy, and I dont care that I am already going to wear them! I bought them a little big so that I can hopefully wear them the whole time. We had a Cinnabon snack, went in Pottery Barn and dreamed a bit and then headed to delicious California Pizza Kitchen! After that we drove to the movie theatre to watch Batman which was absolutely amazing! I usually get antsy in movies that are longer than 2 hours, but this one kept my attention the whole time. Then we stopped by Sonic to get a burger, cheese sticks and an ice cream (we had a really healthy eating day, haha) So, I just wanted to say that I love my husband, couldnt be prouder of him and hope to have 60 more years even better than the great one we just had!

So today, I wanna go to the water park with my hubby! He just barged in really quick and said to get ready to do something fun because he thought he was going to be done very early today. So, what did I suggest??? The WATER PARK!!! Unfortunatley the slides are closed today, but the pool works just fine for me, especially on a 90+ degree day. So, I guess I will just keep my fingers crossed that he gets home early! :) We are also going to Louisville tomorrow for our early anniversary. I hope I feel good, because the last time we tried to go we had to turn straight back around, due to me. Anyways, happy weekend to all! See ya Monday ;)

Miss Universe 2008 (Miss Venezuela)

The grand finale of our weekend (which I was reminded by one of my friends blogs!)was watching the Miss Universe Pageant Sunday night. I am sure you can imagine how ecstatic Seth was to watch this with me (this is a joke, but he was kind enough to sit through most of it so I wouldn't have to watch it alone!). Anyways, Miss USA fell again this year, which was pretty funny. I just don't know how in the one moment when you should not trip out of all other moments in your life, you do! A couple of years ago, before I was married, I was in a couple of pageants. I had always wanted to try it and I decided it was now or never. They were great experiences, and a lot harder than prancing around in a swimsuit. I didn't fall in my evening gown though. The interview part is extremely intimidating. I blubbered my way through, even though I had spent many an hour practicing how I would answer my questions. I did the Miss America program and with that one you have to have a talent and be a volunteer. I think some of the girls made up there volunteer stuff, but that is me being judgemental and I shouldnt. My mom was Miss Appomattox and was in the Miss Virginia pageant! Although I didnt make it that far, I am glad I was able to check pageants off of my list. Now if only I could look like Miss Venezuela!!!

BTW- I am realizing how bad of an idea it is to put your own picture below Miss Universe.

We went exploring

Saturday, Seth and I decided to go see what we could see in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. We drove downtown and tried to go to a coffee shop, which ended up being closed. So we got back in the car and kept driving. The next thing that caught our eye was a huge grave yard. We decided that we would get out and walk around. I don't know if any of you have ever done this before, and to some of you this may sound strange, but it was like a walk into the past. We found this one section that had stairs and a huge stone with the family name on it. We then saw several stones in front of the marker that were flat and the length of the entire body. Each stone had detailed information of the kind of person each was and their name and relation to one another. The families were the Brown's and the Pusey's. We found that several were doctors and several were lawyers. Two little ones were very young when they died and the stone read that they had passed away during the scarlet fever epidemic, which was very sad (and after looking around at several other markers, we realized there were a lot of children that died from scarlet fever). So we read about the Brown-Pusey family and walked away feeling like we knew them a little bit. I told Seth that I was glad we stopped to read about them. I thought if the families saw us reading about their lives, they would have been glad that someone over 100 years later cared to learn about their lives. I told Seth I hope after we died that someone will come and be interested to read about us. So, we then got in the car and headed off to find the Coca Cola museum. Much to our surprise, on our way to the museum, we drive by the Brown-Pusey house! We were shocked. It was crazy that we had just spent 20 minutes or so reading their graves and then we drive by their house! They were obviously very wealthy and important in Elizabethtown and they had hosted for guests such as General Custer. They donated their home to the community and now it is open for all. In fact, it looked like we had just missed a wedding that was in the garden. So after we got over our shock of finding their house and feeling like the Brown-Pusey family was following us around, we found the Coke museum. This was very fun to go through. I have been to the Coke museum in Atlanta, and of course the Schmidt Coca Cola Museum wasn't near as big, but it was just as interesting. At the end we paid 10 cents to get a handmade, old fashioned Cherry Coke! Delicious. I also told Seth that I was never taking him to another museum again though because he read EVERY sign. All ten million of them! He is such a nerd, but a hot nerd I must say. Then Seth told me we could go out for dinner that night, so what nice restaurant did I choose to go to??? Arby's!!!! Hahaha, I really just wanted a roast beef sandwich with curly fries and Arby's sauce... so that's where we went! Our Saturday was a great day, and Sunday we met up with two families down here and went to church and Panera, which was the icing on the cake. I also found out that there is a water park on base here, so if I can get my house cleaned today, I will probably be making a stop there tomorrow!!!

Free Bee Fabulous Friday

I wish that our Officer quarters apartment could look like this one!!! Don't get me wrong, I am very thankful for our apartment that they gave us, but the decor is a tad 90's and it is slightly cramped. So since I can wish, I wish that I opened my door and saw this!!! What do you guys think? Maybe I could request this when we move to California, haha :)

This is what I had for lunch today. It was sooo good that I decided to find the recipe so I can make it myself. Hopefully you all will enjoy too!


O'Charley's Loaded Potato Soup

Ingredients
3 lbs red potatoes
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
8 cups half and half
1 (16 ounce) package Velveeta Cheese, melted
white pepper
garlic powder
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1/2 lb bacon, fried crisp
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup fresh chives, chopped
1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Directions
1. Dice unpeeled red potatoes into 1/2 inch cubes.
2. Place in large saucepan; cover with water and bring to a boil.
3. Let boil for 10 minutes or until 3/4 cooked.
4. In a separate pan, combine melted margarine and flour, mixing until smooth.
5. Place over low heat and gradually add half-and-half, stirring constantly.
6. Continue to stir until smooth and liquid begins to thicken.
7. Add melted Velveeta.
8. Stir well.
9. Drain potatoes and add to cream mixture.
10. Stir in pepper, garlic powder and hot pepper sauce.
11. Cover and cook over low heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
12. Place soup into individual serving bowls and top with crumbled bacon, shredded cheese, chives and parsley.

Hello everyone! I hope you are all out to BBQ. I just wanted to write a quick Happy 4th to all, since this is my favorite holiday. I ran into my friend Kristen at the mall, got to go to the bookstore and now my steak and potato are waiting for me! I hope you all have a great evening. Happy Birthday and God Bless America. Armor School Rocks!?!

Wow! What a drive. It was beautiful but sooo long. After getting a late start and driving through the windy roads of West Virginia, we finally made it to Kentucky! Now, if I can just figure my way around this place. Seth should be back in about 20 minutes and we are going to get groceries. The officer quarters aren't bad at all, in fact I am surprised at how much bigger and nicer it is than I expected. God is watching out for us! Now I cant wait to meet up with my friends that are already here and excited about meeting new ones. It might take a couple of days to recoup from the weekend though. Okay, well just wanted everyone to know I hadn't disappeared. Talk to you soon!
