Please Pray!

My dear friend Kristen's little girl was attacked by a dog yesterday. Please pray for them. She has already had one surgery and will have to have another one. It attacked her and bit her nose and her head. They will have to do a skin graft for her poor little nose. This is such a tramatizing time for the family and especially this little 6 year old. Your prayers will be greatly appreciated!

Here she is. They call her "The Genius" :) Isn't she beautiful?

Caleb's first girlfriends. He LOVES to play with them.

We love them.

Baby Cups. . .cutie patootie!

This is my newest idea. I think it is so special when you receive a personalized gift as a baby present. Most babies have the little sterling silver baby cups, but this is a twist on the old tradition. These teacups have the babies initials on the front and all the birthday information on the back. Plus, you can add a sweet message to the inside! This one is blue but I also make them in pink and green. I think they would make a lovely gift for a new mommy. It is something that the little baby can pass on to his/her children one day. I made this one for my little bambino :)
And speaking of mommy's, mine is our her way with my sister to visit us this week! I love when our families can see our little Caleb :)
Btw- Did I tell you I am a twit? Yes, I tweet :)
Happy Monday!

Free Bee FABULOUS Friday :)

This is a 3 mushroom, moss terrarium. If I could buy one thing today, I would buy this! It is absolutely perfect for people like us who live in townhomes/apartments and aren't able to grow our own plants in a garden. Plus, it is just so smurfy and beautiful!

Check out beadstyle's shop!

Givin' it a try

Super Caleb!

Our first try at cloth diapers. I managed to whip this one up while Caleb napped this morning. I did a trial diaper two days ago so I was able to make this one a lot faster and it is much prettier (believe me, you do not want to see the first one!).He has had this one on for 1 hour. So far so good. Now we just have to see how well it holds up in the wash.

I couldn't help but personalize it :)

See, happy little cloth diaper man ;)

4 months and going strong!

Okay, how did this happen? My little teanie baby bear turned 4 months old this past week! Even with all the other craziness going on, we managed to sneak in an at-home photo shoot. Here are some of my fav's :)

LOVE these precious little feet

. . .and fingers

Caleb has a little monkey binkie that Seth's aunt Sharon
sent him and it has become his absolute favorite thing!
Of course, he usually doesn't wear it on his head ;)

I just love his big blue eyes in this one

This face cracks me up every time I look at it!

This is the new thing to do. Put the sign in front of his face.

I made him this little onesie with his name on it.
I have been wanting to since he was born and
finally decided to make myself do it!

Laughing as he falls over :)

Also! Most of you are going to think I am crazy, but I decided to give cloth diapers a go. I purchased this super cute diaper cover on etsy, here (or click on the picture and it will take you to the etsy shop).
I spent more than what I planned on but only because I will be able to use this as an outfit bottom with a little white T-shirt for him. So it is like a diaper/outfit. Plus, if the trial run of cloth diapers doesn't work out, I won't have lost my money completely :) Now I am trying to figure out the best way to make my own (I know,I am super crazy, I know!) Seth isn't really crazy about this idea just because he thinks it will be way too messy and he knows that I like to get ideas, spend money on trying them out and then forget about them because I discovered a new idea. . .oops. After I realized though that I change the majority of the diapers, I talked him into giving it a try. It will save us money, but is it worth the trouble? We will find out! If any of you use cloth diapers, please give me any and all tips!

I love this fabric. It's called "Zoo".

My new blog look :)
This is the CHANGE I have been talking about for the last week!
Me and my wonderful papermepretty etsy friend, well mostly the etsy friend :), made banners, pictures, avatars, business cards and a signature to help connect my shop and my blog. She did such a great job! I am so excited to show it all off. What do you think?

I will be getting rid of all my other blogs (why do I have more than one??? I like to talk too much!!!) So this will be my one and only blog spot.

Also, make sure to check back tomorrow, because this time I have a surprise for you all! It might just be something free, but I dunno ;)

Sick and Busy. . .Busy and Sick

Guess what I have been lately? You guessed it. . .sick and busy. The busy part is pretty much over, but the sick part isn't. I am just waiting for my fever to go back up. Right now I am all hot and clammy because my fever is down. Oh what a world.

This is an example of what I made them, except they said
things like "Mr., Mrs., Maid of Honor, etc"

On the other hand, I had a pretty big order of
mugs to ship this week. I was so excited to do this
order because it was for a wedding. When my sister
got married I gave her a shower and made mugs for
all the girls as shower favors. The girl that ordered
these particular mugs wanted them for her wedding
party. A very fun order to make. And if you are
wondering what the cute little orange things are on
the box, they are Caleb's cute little bootie rattles.
My friend Stefanie bought them for him and I tried
them out this week. He loves them!

Here is my cute little baby bear. I found this outfit
on ebay and it is my all time favorite. It is "le top"
brand and I believe I paid 99 cents + shipping for it.

Yepp, it's teething time.

LOVES eating his clothes.

Nothing is sweeter than a sleeping baby, especially when
it's your baby :)Don't you just love when they sleep with
their little hiney in the air?

I love this one.

My shop and blog changes are coming soon!
I can barely wait to share them with you all :)

YART SALE!!!

I am participating in the annual etsy YART sale.

art + yard= yart

Select items are 20% off in the shop including this paula peacock is in lurvvv print ;)

Change is a comin'

I thought I would make a random list to let everyone know things that we have been doing, places we have been going, people we have been seeing, etc...

Also, I have a few changes coming to my blog and etsy shop that I am very very excited about! It's only a matter of days and I think it will be well liked. . . I hope ;)

~Caleb can roll from his tummy to his back!
~We have been going to the waterpark with friends lately. My friend Stefanie and her little girl and baby boy and my friend Lori who has a little girl as well. Caleb loves to nap to the sound of the waterfalls splashing and I like to get some girly time in!
~Seth earned his spurs last week, which is a big deal! He was one of only 18 who made it all the way through, and the only officer :) Caleb and I are very proud of him.
~My friend Kristen came over this morning and brought me an iced hazelnut coffee from McD's which has quickly turned into my favorite coffee drink. . .and it isn't near as expensive as my Starbucks indulgences :) Kristen and I had so much fun talking. The time got away from us!
~My family is coming at the end of June, just in time for my birthday. Well, at least my sister, brother and little Cammy will be here, although I am still holding out that my mom will decide to come too! How can you resist little cutie pie Caleb KK (We know you are reading this!!!)
~I found Caleb a super cute Popeye onesie on ebay for just a couple bucks. When my brother was little, he would only eat his green vege's if we reminded him how strong it would make him, like it does for Popeye. He would eat the vege's and instantly turn into Popeye the Sailorman. I think he still does that ;)
~Our trashcan was stolen! The land lady says it will be back soon, but that was a week and a half ago. . .oh trashcan, where art thou?
~Thinking about off post care for Caleb. I have called the hospital 4 times to make him an appt. and they have yet to have an opening. This has got to change! Off to civilian care.
~I am supposed to have a root canal, but trying to put it off, blahhhh
~I get a bulk shipment of mugs today and I will be designing new ones and listing them here soon! I can hardly wait for them to get here, I am so anxious to start working on them!

Alright, enough about me, what about you? I love reading you all's blogs. My little expectant mommies Robin and Lisa! Joey, where have you been my love? And all of the rest of you crazy bloggetters :) Happy Thursday, tomorrow is Friday!!! Woopee, that means pizza and a movie for me ;)

Balla

Okay, so we may not be balla's but we did have fun at the Regimental ball Friday. Here are a few pics!

We had a ceremony for the ladies called the "yellow garter ceremony" where we all received yellow garters from our soldiers. They said it was a very old tradition that had been forgotten about. It was pretty special I must say.

All of us ladies.

beauty after the storm

This is the devotion that was sent to me today from Proverbs 31 ministries. If you have a chance, I think you will be glad you read it :)

My first personal "storm" occurred when I was 14 years old. It was filled with heartache, death, mystery, fear and freedom. It's a storm that took me years to piece together.

And many more years to realize the beauty born from it.

School was out for the summer. I had just finished the 8th grade and could hardly wait to go to the beach with my family. I can remember the harried havoc as if it was yesterday - snack food, suitcases, and beach necessities were strewn all throughout our kitchen. We were excitedly packing that evening, getting ready for the next morning's early departure for Ocean City, New Jersey.

My memory also perfectly recalls the knock on the door that evening which would define the next 12 years of my life.

It was my friends' dad who lived down the street. "Did you see Evie today? Do you know where she might be?" he asked with hope. "She never came home tonight."

I had not seen her that day. Nor would I ever again.

A neighbor of mine had asked my girlfriend Evie to clean his house. As it turns out, he had other plans in mind for her that day.

Shortly after she arrived at his home, he forced her into his car, restrained her hands, gagged her and drove to a densely wooded area several miles away. Over an undisclosed period of time he performed unspeakable acts and then he left her for dead.

It took the authorities more than 6 months to find her body and solve what had come to be a nation-wide mystery.

During the many months they searched for her, and worked to piece it all together, I became consumed with fear. I promised myself that I would never be at home alone again. And for the most part, I stuck to that vow for many years.

Eventually I found freedom from this fear. It was a gradual process that came to fruition as I grew in my faith. Christ intervened, and I gradually let go. I am no longer consumed by the details of her death or the remnants of my fear.

Several years ago the Lord quietly revealed a most special memory of Evie that I had long forgotten. We were having a sleepover one evening. As we were lying in my bed laughing, talking, and dreaming as girlfriends do, she very nonchalantly asked me if I wanted to be sure to get into Heaven. Of course I wanted to be sure. I knew that Heaven was a wonderful place. I waited in eager anticipation for her next words.

"Ask Jesus into your heart," she pronounced. "That's it? Just ask Him into my heart?" I quipped. "Well yes. There's more, but that's the start…" she said.

And that precious little Evie prayed with me right there in the wee hours of the night, helping me to ask Jesus into my heart.

One young God-honoring friend.

One unutterable death.

At least one life saved…

…this was the beauty that He faithfully revealed to me years after my storm.

"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:18 (NIV)

Dear Lord, thank You for the life You have given me. I praise You for the ways You have spoken to me through Your Word, through prayer, and through other people. Thank You for healing me and delivering me from my fear. Help me to focus on You today and not become distracted by anything that is not of You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

I'm not trying to be a hippie but. . .

Growing up, my dad kept a woodstove outside (and still does). This woodstove was special because it provided the heat for our water and house. Taking the trash out meant taking the trash, sorting it, and putting the right trash in the woodstove. My brother still gets to enjoy this lovely task since :) Instant recycling! Since I have gotten married, I have thought and thought about recycling. I didn't want to be a crazy "au natural" lady who doesn't wear deoderant or wash very often though. . . and that is what I associated recycling with (silly, I know). Then it hit me, I feel bad about throwing all of my paper, plastic and aluminum out because I never have before. I recycled without realizing it. Since it has taken me almost 2 years to figure that out, I decided to jump to action! I called my waste management company and got everything figured out for how I can recycle. It does cost me $5.25 a month, but they bring me my very own recycling container and they provide the pick up for it. I will glady pay $5.25 to not have to buy my own bins, sort through everything and take it to the recycling dump. I just put all my recycling items into one bin and voila! So, I guess I am slowly turning into the hippie chick without deoderant. . .or maybe not ;) Bring on the recycling and homemade whatever's. . .but I'm still sticking to deoderant.
