This will be exciting if you enjoy. . .
Crafting!!!
Recently, Martha Stewart has been doing a lot of kinda weird foods on her show so my interest in watching has, well, diminished. However, today they had craft hour! Rosie O'Donell was on there (I really can't stand her, but whatever) and then Martha's daughter and friend who have the hilarious show "Whatever Martha" (where they make fun of Martha Stewart's old Martha episodes) were also on the show. Much to my surprise and delight, Martha has a brand new book that just came out today called "Martha Stewart's Encyclopedia of Crafts". For Christmas one year, my mom got me the big Martha Stewart manual on everything from how to clean your house to how long to cook a chicken and it is an amazing book. I can only imagine how great the craft book is!!! I can not wait to browse through it and I am already selling on ebay to save up to buy it :)

Oh Sunday
~I love Sunday nights. . . why do they only come once a week?
~We had a tornado warning last night. The whether warning siren for our county is on the backside of our neighborhood, and it was so loud! I held Caleb's ears. But no tornado after all.
~Debating whether to take Caleb to get his picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Whadda ya think?
~We had lunch with our Sunday school today which was so very fun.
~I think I found a pretty blue Easter dress. It is not a good one for feeding Caleb (which has become the basis of my shopping these days!) but it is so pretty and simple that I just had to get it.
~It was only 40 degrees today. I am sooo ready to be done with winter clothes until the fall! Please can I just wear flip flops everyday from now on???
~I want to wear those long maxi dresses all summer long. It feels like I am wearing a nightgown all day, except it doesn't look like it!
~I go for my 6 week check up to the doctor on Wed. which I am absolutely dreading! The only good thing is that I absolutely love my doctor.
~I bought material to make an apron this week. This is something I have been wanting to do since last March! Cross my fingers :/
~My little Cammy is turning 4 on Wednesday. Oh where has the time gone?
~I am itching to go to a flea market or a neat antique shop. . .I just gotta find one.
~I love my little Caleb more and more every day :)

Hat day. . .
Caleb and I had hat day yesterday.
This is Caleb's hat from his aunt Melissa and uncle Jonathan (who is in Iraq)
Okay, he is done!!!
If Seth sees this, I am in sooo much trouble! I made a hairbow for our friends little girls birthday and I needed to make sure it looked okay so Caleb was my guinea pig and I have to say that he is just as cute as a girl, haha. But please don't tell his daddy!!!

yummy deliciousness salsa
Here is my favorite way of making salsa:
1 small can of Ro-Tel
1 large can of petite diced tomatoes
1 package of salsa or fajita seasoning, but only use 1/2 of the package
Cilantro (as much as you want, I happen to like A LOT!)
Salt to taste
Dump all the ingredients into a food processor or blender. . .and yummy! Homemade, wonderful salsa.

a better home
and garden!
Today I got my Better Homes and Gardens magazine in the mail from my mom. She sent me a subscription!!! I am so excited! Especially since Spring is here and I couldn't be happier. Seth and I spent a little while on the back patio watching deer, eating pistachios and throwing the shells at each other. Something about nice weather just puts us in a good mood, even if the day ain't been all that great (there's a lil' country for ya!) I am dreaming of Spring dresses and comfy tank tops with big beaded earrings, oh yeah, and no more socks!!! Flip flops forever!!! If my toes didn't get cold, I would have been wearing flip flops all winter. What do you guys look forward to when Springtime rolls around?

Status update
So on facebook they have a little section where you can put what you are doing or thinking. I decided that I would try it on my blog.
Status update:
Kathlyn is home from church and is enjoying a diet cherry coke before she takes a nap with Caleb :)
I think you guys should try it ;)

night out
Tonight I am venturing out into the wilderness for the first time, alone. Okay, that might sound a bit harsh. I am actually going to a "Saber Sisters" get together for Seth's platoon. I have been invited to several of them and haven't made it to any. I decided to just go ahead and go tonight, even though I feel crazy for leaving Caleb behind. It is at my friends house (one of the only other "Saber sisters" that I know, so that is extra incentive to finally go). It will be very weird to not have Caleb with me, but I think Seth will manage just fine. I am actually looking forward to being a grown up for a few hours. Anyways, I will have to let you know how it goes!
Also, I finally opened my sewing machine and flipped through the manual. That is about all I have had time to do. On a sad note, our Wal-mart here is getting rid of their fabric!!! I am so sad. Now I will have to go all the way to E-town if I need fabric! Which is farther than I would like to go when Caleb is with me. Okay, I must run and take my shower before monkey head wakes up. Have a GREAT weekend!!!

Spring please
So here is my dream list for spring (or at least one of them!) I am kinda liking the bohemian chic thing and the loose fitting thing (can you say baby belly?). Loose fitting clothes are my best friend right now. Oh and hey! Tomorrow AND Wed. the temperature is supposed to be in the 70's!!! Spring, can't you just stay?

We're Home!!!
After a long drive, we made it home. It was a bittersweet day and the rain didn't help the bitter part. I was sad to leave my family. We had such a good time and I know that it will be a couple of months before we see them again, which makes me even more sad to know they won't be able to see Caleb for 8 more weeks and he will be so different by then. But the sweet part was that I was picked up by my handsome husband and when I got home I found a new sewing table and a tank top I had wanted from Old Navy. He missed us :) This week will be interesting. It will be the first week that Caleb and I will spend as just the two of us. I am a little nervous but I am sure everything will go smooth (righttttttt). We are getting pretty used to each other and I have learned a lot about him this past week that will help me when he gets fussy. He has been having tummy aches, so my mom suggested that I get him some Gripe Water. Anyone ever heard of it? Since he has been taking it, the stomach aches have almost disappeared. I give it to him before he eats and sometimes after too if he gets fussy. Anyways, I have so much to catch up on with my posting. I hope I get a chance tomorrow to post some pics of the springy dresses that I wish I could fit into now. I can at least drool over them though, right?

M.I.A
Sorry for being gone so long. I wanted to blog really quick to say that I am visiting my family this week (hence the M.I.A part).
I also wanted to say that my little Caleb is 3 weeks old today! Crazy! I just want to keep him this little forever. When we went for his 5 day old check up he weighed 7lb 10oz. The next week when we went back he weighed 8lb 12oz! What a little chunky monkey :) We don't take him back until 2 months and that is when he gets his shots (oh I am dreading that visit). But all is well and more blogging will be done next week but for now I am enjoying time with my family :)
ALSO, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JOEY!!! SHE ROCKS!!!

I stumbled upon this blog today while Caleb was catnapping on me. I know most of you will think this looks gross (Joey!!!) but I think it looks so yummy. Too bad I am not feeling up to making it :( This will go on my list for a few weeks from now! Am I the only one who would like to try this?
Brilliant Beetroot Borscht
(Or beets to you Americans)
Ingredients:
2oz butter
2 large carrots
3-4 medium beetroot (pre-cooked or not)
4 medium potatoes
1 large apple (whatever is handy)
1 large onion
3-4 cloves of garlic
1.5 litres of broth (veggie or meat)
I heaped tablespoon of plain flour
1 small tin/6fl oz of tomato paste
2-3 tbls balsamic vinegar
2-3 tbls brown sugar
salt and pepper to taste
Sour cream
dill or parsley to garnish (fresh or dried)
Directions:
Chop all the veggies up. Melt butter in large pot and add garlic, onion, carrots and beetroot. Add a bit of salt and pepper and cook for approx 10-12 mins. Get the stock ready if you haven't already done so (I just use a veggie broth paste that I add boiling water to). Mix the flour into the veggies and gradually pour on the stock mixing as you go and add in the tomato paste. Next stick in the potatoes and apple and let the soup simmer for 35-40 mins until all the veg is cooked. Add the vinegar and sugar (taste as this point to check the sweetness versus vinegar ratio). Blend the soup and serve with a dollop of sour cream and some fresh dill or parsley to garnish. Great with some warm fresh bread or rolls.
