Now for a new review and giveaway that I am SUPER excited about.

I've been using Emily Tavis's "Vaalia Lelek" skin care line for the past 3 weeks. She generously sent me a face wash and a serum to try out for a review. I will have to say that at first I was a little skeptical.  The face wash doesn't suds up like a normal wash.  Rather, it is 100% oil...but it is amazing!  It even took my mascara off with ease and it's completely natural, essential oils so it smells good.  I pump some into my hand, rub into my face, splash water on my face to wash the oil off and wipe off with a wash cloth.  Then, I apply a small amount of the serum (also made from essential oils) all over my face.  At first it seems wayyy too oily but after about 5 minutes, the oils have soaked into my skin and my skin feels soft.  The mixture made for me was for acne prone skin and I must say that it has worked better on my acne than any clearasil or proactiv that I have used.  I LOVE this product and will continue to use it after I use up my sample bottles.  It also was great for around my eyes and moisturizing your eyes is always good for preventing wrinkles!

The best part about this is the friendship I have made with Emily.  She is a gem and wonderful to work with.  She is also a fellow believer and I can truly see God's light shining through her.  She loves God, she loves people and she loves her business!

DIY Moroccan Herb Pots

I am such a cheap-o.  I LOVE all of the pretty pots that are everywhere, but I refuse to pay $20 for a POT!  So, I decided to make my own.

Supplies:

One can of spray paint (color of your choice!)

Terra-Cotta pots (I purchase my medium sized ones at Walmart for $1.98 a piece)

Plant

Chalkboard Paint (not pictured)

Lay out your pots, leaving a good amount of space in between.  It's a good idea to spray paint outside because it can be messy and smelly!

Give it as many coats of paint as you would like...allowing the pots to dry in between coats.  I did 2 coats...I liked the worn look of not covering the pots completely.  The terra cotta soaks up paint and creates a neat, rustic finish.

Make your own stencil.  Fold in half to make sure that you have an even stencil.  I did a Moroccan stencil, but you can do any shape...circle, square, polka dots....

Hold your stencil (or if you're not lazy like I am, tape it on!)

Using a permanent marker, trace around your stencil:

Then you paint inside of your stencil with your chalkboard paint.  It took 2 coats for me to cover the pot good.

Let them dry reallllllly good!

Plant your plants (I used herbs) and then label with your chalk.

Last year, I planted a big pot of 3 different herbs.  I used them to make a bean salad when my mom came to visit.  Later, I realized that one of my "herbs" was really a weed that had started to grow in my pot!  If I would've used a pot like this, I wouldn't have added a weed to my bean salad!  Although it makes for a pretty good story because we ate the salad before we figured out what I had done :)

Modeling Time

My very sweet, fun and talented photographer friend, Jessica (who owns Capture Photography in Columbus Ga) asked me if Caleb could be a little model for a friend of her's who makes adorable mustache hats (and a ton of other cute things!)  Of course I said "Yes!"

So, off we went downtown to a super cute studio on 2nd street and Jessica "captured" these oh-so-cute photo's of my little man.

I may be bias, but I'd say he's a natural :)
